ack. Went in for a non-stress test Saturday and my blood pressure was
CRAZY HIGH! So i've been here since then and am struggling with the reality that if it stays resistent to med changes and bed rest, that I may be hospitalized until I actually give birth...

EDD is November 5th. I am 34 weeks 3 days today and have to last until at least 35 weeks in order to birth with my BELOVED midwife at our really low-key BELOVED hospital [see all "fan" posts on mothering.com for Louise Bastarache and Tobey Hospital].

I am starting to be terrified that i'm suddenly going to be shipped out to a major hospital. I've never had major surgery and both my previous births have been unmedicated and pretty much "unhindered"---this feels so completely out of control.

arrrggghhh, just needed to vent!

send out as many low-BP vibes as you can

Lisa, momma to DD '10 , DD '07, DS '82 and partner to DH

I'm sorry you're going through this, Lisa! At least you only have 4 more days until you're 35 weeks. I hope your bp lowers and you can still have the birth you want!

I am sorry Mama. I know the out of control/out of reality feeling too well. I pray you can make it to 35 weeks so you can keep more of what you had in mind.

In the meantime take control of anything you are able to. Calming thoughts!

Lisa, we're practically due date buddies (Nov. 4 by conception date, Nov. 6 by LMP), so I wanted to chime in with my support! I can't imagine being in the hospital at this point. I definitely would not feel ready for this little one to come yet! If I could, I'd send some of my low BP to you...but I guess it doesn't work that way. I hope and pray that the meds and bed rest will start to help and that you will be able to wait to have your baby until it is term!

Well, I am STILL in the hospital and won't be going home until I have the baby. Actually left the hospital for one evening, but had to come back next morning because BP shot back up.

Now I'm maxed out on meds and my BP is only responding minimally to them.

So, tomorrow we probably will start trying to ripen my cervix. I am 35 wks 3 days tomorrow. Has anyone here had a successful induction this early that they can share info about? Just fishing for any ideas that actually worked

The wonderful news is that the baby looks great and is growing good and moving a lot and sounding great--she just needs to come out SOON because the situation has become so dangerous for me.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes, this is such an incredibly isolating experience.

I'm glad that baby is doing well and that you've managed to keep her baking as long as you have!

No suggestions, but I just hope that everything goes smoothly and easily for you so that your body can recover.

Wow, great job getting past the 35 week mark! Don't have induction advice, but I'll think good thoughts for everything going smoothly. Don't know if there is any way you could have access to this since you have to stay in the hospital, but I do know that accupuncture has been very useful for inductions for some folks I know.
