Ok...I am not there yet. But I was looking at a bottle of "home health" castor oil in earth fare today and it says in capital letters ont he bottle...."do not ingest" so is this just an open ended warning or are there different kinds of castor oil?

it's this brand:

This is sheer conjecture: I suspect it is like the difference between alcohol and rubbing alcohol. My homebirth supply list had "Olive oil or cold-pressed castor oil" and I noticed on your link that this bottle says cold-pressed. perhaps that is what makes the difference?? But if it says do not ingest, I would . . . not ingest.

I don't think its the same. You would want the castor oil used as a laxative. It is sold at pharmacies like rite aid or walmart in the laxative section and it is about $3 at walmart. I wouldn't use the cold-pressed one because it says do not ingest and its directions are not based on ingesting. The regular kind is safe to drink and has directions for using it.
