This is my first baby to make it to (and past) my due date.  It IS frustrating...but I think the hardest part is DH seems disappointed/frustrated/distant/annoyed...I don't really know the word - and that's making it harder for me.  I kind of feel in a way like he thinks it's my fault I haven't had the baby when HE wanted me to (I know this isn't true - it's just the vibe I'm getting).

The other hard part is juggling all the other kids.  All the kids went to their other parent's house last weekend and are all going this weekend as well.  We figured in that time we would have the baby and not have to worry much about juggling the kids and be able to focus on baby/hospital time/coming home etc.  My 3 kids I have to drive 1.5 hours from here to meet their dad and that makes me nervous because my last labor was only 1.5 hours start to finish!  DH's kids really COULD come...maybe I should just tell him to pick them up.  I feel bad that they are so close and we aren't taking them because I just needed sleep and to not have to worry about the kids if I had the baby.

At the doc on Friday he said I was 3cm dilated 75% effaced and he stripped my membranes.  I've been taking Red Raspberry Leaf, Evening Primrose Oil, going for walks, having sex...This baby just doesn't want to come out.

Yesterday I tried Castor Oil (because for once I'm scared of having to be induced {or missing my doc when he leaves town on the 8th and I don't like the doc that will be covering for him} and because I feel guilty not having the kids around when they really COULD be).  I was expecting it to be horrible.  Swallowing it totally wasn't an issue at all.  I only had runny poop once.  No stomach cramps, no nausea.  However, 6 hours after I took 1tbsp, contractions started.  They were 2.5-3 minutes apart lasting about 45 seconds.  This went on for hours.  They were painful enough that I had a hard time falling alseep, but eventually I did and the contractions stopped.

So now what?? :(

DDCC so sorry Mama that your little one is staying put for now.  I know how frustrating it can be, I went 8 days over my EDD last time.  Just hang in there and keep reminding yourself that although it may seem like it is taking forever it will happen soon.  hug.gif

Could you see a chiro?  I had my pelvis adjusted a few times in the last couple of weeks and my labour started spontaneously (the only baby that wasn't induced).

I am right there with you.  I shipped out our kids yesterday thinking I was in early labor- all for no reason since contractions just come and go as they please.  Enjoy the time without them though.  I think it is not unreasonable to be overdue and miserable and need to sleep and relax before the marathon starts.  At least that is what I am telling myself.  But if nothing happens by tomorrow noon I am going to have them all come home  I guess.  Hey- even kids need a break from pregnant grumpy mama- not saying you are grumpy- but I sure am!

Thinking of all you mamas still waiting.  Last time I went to 41 w 4 days I remember how long those last couple weeks seemed.  ds was in no rush to make an appearance and he's still the most mellow and relaxed kid I've ever met!

You have an awesome pic there!  Anyway- if you haven't had your little one yet- it will be really soon.  We had our 'no-so-little' little one on Friday and he was well worth the wait!  Praying for you!

well she finally came.  i had my baby on wednesday (8 days late) and she was only 6lbs 8 oz so i guess its a good thing she stayed in there for a while :)  labor was insanely fast and she was nearly born in our truck.  hospital is only 8 min away and we had to call the hospital on the way and if they weren't at the door waiting for me when we pulled up i would have had her in the truck!  the nurse and dh had to literally pull me out of the truck because my body was starting to push the little one out and i couldn't move. oh..we named her jorja jennalyn.  she's beautiful.
