I just wanted to add my sympathies to the rest. Loosing a baby is so hard. I've been there. Please take it easy and take time to heal. Not always easy with a toddler and with the recent move though I'm sure. I really hope your son manages to find a little peace soon. We will miss you dearly around here but God willing, when you're ready you'll be back in a DDC with a happy healthy little baby. Many s your way...

My sincerest condolences to you and your family. Sending you prayers for healing. Having recently joined these message boards, I was trying to catch up and ended up reading several of your posts while browsing. You and your DH sound like wonderful people and the little one that ends up completing your family is going to be one lucky baby.

Thanks for all the support and hugs.

I'm feeling a bit better today and I really don't think it will take long before I'm pregnant again. I'm really having a hard time not peeking in on you all and commenting like I'm still pregnant. It's going to be tough leaving this DDC.

I am so sorry. My baby died last week, and i am constantly coming in to see how everyone is doing too. This one has been hard, because i dont think we will try again.

I am sorry your baby died. i am happy you were able to birth her at home. I know how special that is. I hope you have a very successful next pregnancy.

I wanted to update and let you know I had my check-up today and he said everything looked good. He also said that if my immune system is compromised blood maybe clotting in the umbilical cord or placenta and stopping the baby from getting blood. There is a test for it and I will get that either in the early weeks of pregnancy or before I get pregnant again.
I just got some blood work done today to see how sugar levels in my blood have been in the last couple months to see if I really did have gestational diabetes or not.
Hopefully we can figure out what is going on and I can have a healthy pregnancy soon.

Cathy, I hope you find some answers. I had a friend that just had a miscarriage and they found out she had a clotting disorder and that was probably the reason her first son was so premature. It was such a relief to her to know what was going on so they can do something about it next time. And to have the answer to why her son was premature (since they had no idea and she was really nervous for this pregnancy).

I hope for you, the tests will provide that sort of relief so that you can have a happy and healthy pregnancy in the future.

Hi Cathy,

I was diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder after DD was born at 35 weeks due to a placental abruption that was caused by a clot. I learned afterward that approx 3% of Caucasian women have a genetic clotting disorder. I strongly recommend asking your doctor for a full panel. After I was diagnosed, my brother and father were also tested (my mother is deceased) and we learned that my father has a clotting disorder as well. Fortunately, outside of pregnancy (during which I have to be on injectible blood thinners), the only treatment required is a daily low-dose aspirin. It turns out I was very lucky not to have miscarried during my first pregnancy (and also not to have had a stroke during the 10 years that I was taking the Pill!).

Best of luck!

Mama to Ellie (11/11/05) and Owen, born 12/12/10 - a successful VBAC!

Looks like I didn't have gestational diabetes, but full blown diabetes. I don't know if that was what caused the miscarriage, but now we are going to get that taken care of and wait to TTC at the beginning of next year and get the panel done to make sure I don't have the clotting disorder as well.

Were you diagnosed with Type I diabetes? My DH was just diagnosed with type I two months ago. I am sorry to hear that you are now dealing with this on top of everything else *hugs*

Not sure. They just said diabetes and that they would send the results in the mail. Hopefully since I'm young I can control it easily and be ok.
