I just now had some very light spotting - just a little when I wiped.  Maybe the start of bloody show?  I've been having annoying (but not painful) contractions for weeks, which have been more frequent for the past few days.  Sometimes I time them at 5-15 min apart for an hour or so, then they stop for a few hours.  I am 38w2d and I was 80% and 1 cm, with baby at -2 station on Tues.  Should I call my midwife?  Time some contrax and wait and see?  I don't want to get too excited just yet... labor could still be days away, right?

I've been having painful contractions for several hours now.  They've gotten to be about 5-8 minutes apart and lasting about 45 seconds.  I've spoken to the midwife on call and she said I can head to the hospital whenever I feel I need to, but she's recommended I wait til they are 3-5 minutes apart and a minute long.  I'm waiting it out a bit longer.  I really don't want to end up at the hospital for a false alarm and with this being my first I am just still unsure.  But I'm pretty sure this is it!

That's awesome Lori!  I'd try to get a rest in if at all possible, perhaps a bath with just some candles or laying down if you can.  Also, try to eat something before it picks up too much.  I'll be thinking gentle birthing thoughts for you and looking for an update!

How exciting! Definitely get fed, hydrated, and rested as you can before you head in to the hospital. Good luck!!

Wow- so excited for you! Agree with everyone above- try to get a little rest, relax, eat/drink what you can. Looks like our DDC is going to start getting busy with birthing!

Lots of gentle-birthing vibes coming your way! joy.gif
