I found out with DS because it was a long road of infertility getting there...after the initial testing came out well..I just needed to know. BUT...this time I am NOT going to find out. It's very exciting! You?

We won't be finding out this time either. This is the first time we have planned to not know the gender, feels liberating.

We will not be finding out. I found out once and while I was super excited at the time, I found myself to be even more excited at the birth when I didn't know.

I have 2 of each now so it will be fun to take bets on what side will "win."

Haven't decided yet. Right now I'm leaning toward 'no', but we will see if I change my mind by the time I reach 20 weeks or so

yes DH wants to find out and as far as getting things ready I want to know too. I thought that I wouldn't want to know but it is hard to find actual gender neutral things out there.

We did not find out with DD or DS. However this time we might. There is a chance we may be moving pretty late in the pregnancy and if we do I would love to only take one genders worth of clothing with me and sell the rest! If we stay put I will keep it a surprise.

This will be my 2nd pregnancy not finding out. I didn't intend to know with the twins, but once we knew it was twins that was about all the surprise I could handle at the time. I found that it helped my labor not knowing so I'm excited to wait it out, but then again, the suspense is going to kill me! We have 4 girls so having a boy would be a big shock to everyone around us.

We've always found out and will this time too. I've always liked knowing and calling them by their name before they get here.

Yes, we are definitely planning on finding out!

When can you usually do that? Around 20 weeks?

We haven't even talked about it yet. We did not find out with our first and did find out with our second. Both were fun and I think there were advantages to each. I'm not feeling strongly either way right now.

Yes, around 20 weeks. It can be a few weeks earlier, but 20 weeks is when the routine ultrasound is done to look at heart, kidneys, etc, so that's when most people find out.

We "found out" with our first - but it was wrong! We planned for a girl - called her by name for 4 months - and then got a boy.

That was my 3rd routine ultrasound, since I had one to confirm the pregnancy at my OB, then another to confirm the pregnancy when I moved and established care with a midwife. It wasn't until after the 3rd one that I started doubting the wisdom of routine ultrasounds. I haven't decided for sure, but I will probably decline them this time.

BUT, if I do end up needing an ultrasound for some particular indication, I'm not opposed to hearing the tech's prediction of the sex.

Married to C August 2007.  Son Ian born October 2008.  Son Owen born December 2010.  Daughter Naomi born October 2012.

Definitely finding out if baby cooperates. Both of my girls were very obvious, I spotted the second one before the tech said anything.

Definitely finding out! I have with all three. I *must* know. Dh and I are not a fan of surprises. I'd find out right now if I could.

This is my first and I'm not planning on finding out the sex before the birth which is amazing when you know how impatient I am. I'm trying to keep my eye on the prize with this. I've considerd how the last few days/weeks/months before labor begins can be for some then I figure that it will be nice to have something to look forward to, as in "Gee, I'm as a big as a house now. I SO want this over," and even if I end of being one of those mysterious women who enjoy being pregnant right down to the last day then still! A baby? Yes. Boy or girl? Just icing on the cake.

But like I said, this is my first. I could just be insane.

Nope, not finding out. I did find out with my first, but that was more a confirmation of what I already "knew." I wanted to have a little time to adjust if it turned out I was wrong ... I wasn't.

The younger three have all been surprises. I didn't have any strong feelings about any of their gender, which was odd after having been so sure about #1. This one will be a surprise, too ... I prefer it that way.

I would like to keep it a surprise, but my partner in crime feels like if they can tell, we should know....So we haven't fully reached an agreement about that!

We're too impatient to not find out. Also, I want to know how much of DD's stuff I can reuse, or if I need to call my cousin and have her send her son's old baby clothes out to me.

We're waiting until birth. We let the kids look first and announce the gender. It's very special; I just ADORE that moment.

I found out with my first. I, too, always thought I was too impatient to wait. However, once we made the decision to wait with the next baby, it was totally thrilling. I much prefer waiting for the surprise. It's such fun moment!
