I was just noticing a number of us are knitting woolies for our babes. Maybe it would be fun to have a trade? One pair of longies for one pair of longies, size small, using your own yarn. Gender colours determined by the mama you're knitting for.

Anyone in? I could organize it.

Knit-wits:
boogiemonster (gender-neutral)
jessica_s (boy)
redclover
blackbird13
allisonrose (boy - lmk if you prefer gn)
babyjelly

That'd be pretty cool. I'm pretty new at knitting so hopefully I'd be good enough at it to gift a pair to another baby. I'm in if you don't mind a newbie!

Jessica, wife to Greg since 7/04, mama to the rainbow1284.gif Gman 7/06, 3 brokenheart.gif , rainbow1284.gif Asher 1/11 and a wonderful surprise due in August!

I might be interested. I don't have any longie patterns - anyone know of a good free one?
My condition would be that I want to be paired with someone having a girl: a while back I bought some Patons wool on clearance that is definitely girly. Since we're expecting our second boy, I might never end up using that yarn for my own child.

I'd love to be in! I was just thinking that I needed to get myself in gear and knit some things up...

allisonrose-I heart the aubrey doodlepants pattern. You can google it. The drawback (to me, anyway) is that there are no small, med, large instructions, just a math formula based on your baby's measurments...and we have no babies to measure

Hooray!

Newbie knitters welcome, absolutely.

Shall I keep this thread bumped over the weekend then work on match-ups?

I also need to know if anyone does not want to ship to Canada.

So fun!

Oh, and I'll keep a list in my OP with participants. Kindly post in the thread if you prefer boyish/girlish/gender-neutralish. Thanks!

I'd love boy colors.

This was my first pair! I have enough extra to make another pair as well

I told hubby that Wednesday night will be my knit night and I plan on going to the library or Starbucks to just relax and knit for a little while. So I'm in! (It's hard to knit around a toddler that wants to grab your needles.)

I have a slight preference for boyish colors but would certainly be open to something gender neutral. I'm planning on using yarn from my "stash" and welcome the mama paired with me to do the same.

im pretty sure there is a issue with hosting swaps on MDC, can you all go to our DDC facebook or somewhere off the baord, this sounds like fun and should continue for sure, just in a way that is MDC compliant

partners.gif 2twins.gif  So what if I don't fit cleanly into a defined parenting style, my kids don't fit into a personality archetype either!

We can do this on the DL.

If anyone hasn't posted to the thread and wants in, just shoot me a PM.

Hi there- all swaps on MDC need to go on the Swaps Board of the Trading Post. Thank you for your understanding.
