So w/ DS I didn't have any type of contractions until the last 2 weeks & he was 8 days late. Recently I've had these little pains near my rib, that feel kind of like a cramp and/or pinching feeling. Then last night I started feeling a little nausus. Nothing bad. I woke up a few times to pee, as normal. And my stomach didn't feel so good. Just wondering what BH feel like and if that's what this is. I haven't called dr office. I have appt next Tue & travel 7 hrs plus on Thursday. I'll be 20 weeks on appt day.

My BH don't feel like that. In fact, they aren't painful at all. My belly just gets really tight and hard for 30 seconds or so and then it all relaxes again. I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone. This is my first time with it, so this is the only experience I've had.

I don't think that what you're feeling is Braxton Hicks. In fact, I am having a very similar cramping/pinching thing going just below my ribs(more on the right side) a few times a day. I think it's just that baby moves into a position that puts pressure on a nerve there. I had the same thing when preggo with my son, not so much with my daughter. It can get pretty intense... I can see how it might make you feel kinda queasy. Maybe babe is crunching an organ or something? Laying down always helps me, I think gravity causes baby to un-cram himself from the position that puts pressure there.

Like DaisyMae08 said, I think BH is more a tightening of the uterus. I felt some uncomfortable pressure with mine during my DD's pregnancy(didn't feel any with DS) but it never got to the point of being painful or nauseating.

I've also gotten that pinched/cramp feeling right under my ribs. Twice now in the middle of the night. I have to stand up and stretch away from that side because it's so painful. I didn't have any BX's till the day before he was born (also 8 days late) and those lead into labor. I've been having a ton this time, definitely not painful and they are a lot lower than that crazy pain. It's an all over tightening, at most a little uncomfortable from the stretch.

I didn't think it was but I just wanted to make sure. During the light my actual stomach would hurt. I think maybe waking up on my back is part of the reason for that. But I can't help what my body does while I'm asleep. Thx for sharing/listening ladies.
