How are you dealing with the final few weeks? It could be any day now, or another 3 weeks, but I don't think I can make it for 3 more weeks - I can barely walk, I can't help my daughter get dressed, my back aches all the time and I am tired of the heartburn and not being able to breathe. I am so tired of being pregnant I want to cry!

Exactly what you said... I am so over being pregnant! EDD is today... Ds1 came day before, ds2 came 4 days past. So realistically it'll be soon, but could still be 2 more weeks... I'm bitchy, emotional, my varicose veins hurt like hell, my heartburn kills me at night, he's been ramming his head and hands so hard into my cervix &/or pubic bone I cry...

This is my first pregnancy where I wasn't working. My other two I walked a lot at work and felt SO much better at the end. This is driving me nuts!

I've been trying to keep myself as busy as possible, keeping up on laundry, cleaning, cooking, reading books, watching movies... But I still wake up wanting to cry each day when I'm not in labor... I've had my water break first with my other two, so I know that not feeling "anything" means nothing.

Last time, I thought I was a bit ahead of my EDD, but went past, so I was really frustrated by the end. I made myself a "Consolation Prize" list for each day I was still pregnant. I think I'm making one tonight. Example:
Sunday: get myself a Starbucks mocha frappucino
Monday: leave kids with DH, go window shopping alone
Tuesday: get my nails done (ok, painted them myself, but still...)
Things like that, to have something to look forward to each day. Nothing big, but something I maybe wouldn't normally do or get.

Yep. My EDD is the 6th, so I could be feeling this way for weeks. Every night I have contractions that every 3-5 minutes that KILL. Then after an hour or four they go away. Sometimes they hurt much worse than usual and I get excited... same old thing.

I really love to crochet so I'd been enjoying that, but I seem to have developed some pregnancy arthritis and now I can't do it anymore. mecry.gif

I started baking and that's been fun, but the cookie jar is overstuffed with no sign of baby. (I'm not actually so hungry.)

I stopped answering my phone, worried friends/family be damned. My MIL called me after 10p.m. when I was sleeping "just to check." And since I was up I decided to catch up with her, but she wasn't interested. Once she knew I was not in labor she didn't really care. That was the final straw. No more phone.

I've been trying to indulge like butterfly. So far I've:

Had a pedicure with extra foot rubbing.

Went out for Irish food. (one of my favorite things.)

Bought a day pass at the gym to use their heated pools. (It was heavenly!)

I need to think of other indulgences, because.. I need them.

This is what bothers me the most. I have pressure in my butt, every night I get contractions, braxton hicks, back pain, aches. And then I fall asleep and it starts all over again the next day : ( Either that or I have terrible gas or it's pain from baby movement. I don't know...it freaking hurts in the front and back.

I'm there with you and I still have a few more weeks, EDD 1/26 or 1/23 as of an ultrasound last week.  I don't remember being in this much pain, this uncomfortable and this achey with DD....but maybe that's half the problem, chasing a 2 year old around all day while pregnant.  *sigh* I just want to get this baby out, I told DH I'm going to evict this kid soon if he doesn't stop ramming his butt into my ribs.  My back hurts all.the.time, I can't sleep, I can barely eat, ankles are swollen and I just feel drained every minute of the day.

Oh and we don't have the nursery even close to being done, right now we have bare floors waiting for carpet to be installed.  We just painted this week, still have to paint the doors and trim but it looks like complete crap because I don't have the energy or patience to do it right (and DH sucks at painting).  So DH is constantly bugging me to help get the nursery done and all I want to do is sit with my feet up and do nothing.  I could care less when it gets done since I know the baby will be sleeping in our room in the bassinet for quite some time but DH is dead set on having it completely done before he arrives.

ok....done rant!

Same story here. My tailbone/butt HURT and it feels like someone kicked my crotch. OUCH. Heartburn that wakes me up at night, nausea is back with a vengance. Contractions *every* night that last for hours and are 3-5 minutes apart, lasting about 2 minutes each. I have to concentrate through them and then when I lay down they go away.  EDD is the 21st so I have a ways to go yet and I'm *pissed* about it.

Love the "consolation prize" list idea, totally going to copy it! Thanks!!

Me, too.  Ugh. :/

I'm due the 5th, but I usually go the week before (except for that one time I went 11 days over -- and the next person who jokingly reminds me of that gets punched in the face!), so this pregnancy feels extra long even though I could still have a ways to go.  I am so, so tired of it.

I LOVE the idea of the consulation prize list!  Sometimes something simple at the end of the day is nice to look forward to.  My fav is a hot shower by myself, with the door shut, so I can't hear the guys tearing apart the house!

I've had an easy breezy pregnancy up until now - it's like Mother Nature decided to cram a whole pregnancy's worth of aches, pains, and discomfort into the last two weeks! Ugh!

Oh I wish my pregnancies were easy - I threw up for 26 weeks and had a break of like 3-4 weeks with no heartburn or stomach upset. Then it came back. After 2 pregnancies like this, I would like it to be over, but I am a little sad because I don't think I could do this one more time, so this may be the last time I am pregnant.

Hugs to all of you.  hug2.gif I also like the idea of doing something special for yourself each day.  I'm definitely moving myself up my priority list starting today.  thumb.gif

I'm right there alongside every single one of you. The worst pain I feel right now is as if my pelvis fell hard on the crossbar of a bicycle. I don't remember being in this much pain at the end with my DD! Can't wait for it to be over...

Yup, I guess it's common for that type of ache to be worse with subsequent pregnancies.

At this point with my first, I was still relatively comfortable but this time I'm thinking "maybe I'll go early..." My first was a week early and so that is coloring my expectations for this pregnancy. I need to start thinking that I'll go late to try to ignore the antsy feelings. It's definitely not helped by all the babies being born in the DDC! Of course, my dd isn't till the 21st so I am on the later end.

The consolation prizes sound pretty good but I'm terrible at making myself a priority....

I am officially the most pregnant I have ever been, 39 weeks. I have been having false labor for days/weeks but worse over the last three days. Im sick of telling DH cos he gets really excited and then by bed time we are let down. I have accupuncture tomorrow and then my ob appointment, im hoping that he will at least do an internal, and maybe a stretch and sweep.

Ugh, I'm RIGHT there with you all!  I'm due the 6th & VERY ready to be done!  SO tired of the aches & pains & not sleeping well & tons of Braxton-Hicks I've been having!!!

We really thought the baby wasn't going to hang in there this long, and neither did my midwife.  I dilated very early and he dropped over a week and a half ago.  This is baby #2 for me.  So I got my hopes up for having him in 2010 - maybe a week or two ago.  But no, he's still in my tummy.  And since he dropped, I've been ravenous & I've gained a ton of weight.  :(  The ONLY nice thing is the reduction in the severe indigestion that I've had throughout this entire pregnancy.  But I still have reflux & heartburn problems, especially when the little guy decides to push his foot into my stomach. greensad.gif

Well I'm sorry to be the obnoxious one here, but I can't say I have any physical complaints, aside from waking up every two hours at night and wanting to nap in the afternoons. duck.gifStill, I am quite excited for this pregnancy to come to an end. I'm just dying to have a squishy little baby in my arms again. I'm due on the 6th, so any day now. Tomorrow I'm going to treat myself by having lunch at an Indian place and then dessert at a cupcakery. It will be one of my last afternoons all to myself while DS is at school. I love seeing the birth stories that keep cropping up....and I know we're all dying to be next!!

Another due the 6th- And whose first was early so this 39 week crap is getting old LOL  I mean we have fully formed babies in there- they can come out if they want right?  haha!  At least I can go back to having mornings to myself, I thought I said goodbye to them when christmas break started, but baby is giving me a gift.  Had the stomach bug last week so feeling relieved despite my bowling ball, and peeing every commercial break, and having a kid push on my ribs so that the head can ram into my rectum... yeah it's great!  Love the indulgence idea!

Hello ladies! Hope everyone is indulging themselves.

Today I bought some homeopathies my midwife recommended. I'm getting a bit discouraged with all the false labor. It doesn't make me worry about actual labor as much as I worry about how I'll cope with ongoing pregnancy. but.. on day at a time right? And today makes 39.3 so, ladies "due" on the 6th.. that's just 4 days away. But who is counting? wink1.gif

I think this baby just wanted to ensure it didn't have to share it's birthday with any major holidays.

I'm SO there with you!!  I hope I know it's real labor in time to get to the Birth Center, 'cause I've had so many contractions for the past few days!  And last few weeks...

So today I bought new socks, because mine were in tatters. I'm going to have to get better at indulging, because my "practice contractions" are far more painful and frequent over the last day or so. Come on labor fairies. Fly over my house! Mama hurts.

I'm so there with you all.... But babe has to wait two more days to come, because then I can get my homebirth. Painful BH in the evening and since the weekend my pubic bone is killing me so he/she might be dropping.... We are done with preparing so from Thursday on, babe may show up!

Ugh, I'm due tomorrow.  With the 26 weeks of morning sickness, gestational diabetes, and blood pressure that started going up last week for no obvious reason, I'm pretty much at my limit.

My OB doesn't want me to go past 41 weeks, and I'm really afraid of being induced, so I *need* to get this baby out of there.  I let him check my cervix yesterday and I'm only dilated 1/2 cm.  Plus, baby hasn't dropped much either.

My mom and grandma had all of their babies a month or so early, so I really thought I would too.

:(

Sending you some labor vibes, poppiesinjuly....First babies can be so stubborn. (Didn't notice in your sig that you have other kids). My BP went up at the end of my last PG, I think that's common. I guess it's more dangerous if it's coupled with GD, though. I hope that baby decides to get a move on soon!

Count me in as done.  Mentally, I'm prepared to be pregnant for another 2+ wks (I'm technically 'due' the 12th) because my first was 10 days 'late' and my sister, myself and my niece were all about 2wks late.  But my body is just done.  I've had a really easy breezy pregnancy and have gotten adjusted through most of my pregnancy.  The adjustments have helped with the aches and pains, but getting up in the middle of the night my right hip screams at me and my tailbone kills most of the day while I'm being a good girl and sitting on my birth ball at my desk at work.  The heartburn comes and goes and seems to be food related (eating more helps).  All in all, I'm not as miserable as some of you ladies sound, but I am really really really ready to get the whole labor thing over with and meet this little person.  Everything in the physical house is ready; all we need to do is blow up the birth pool.  It's likely a huge part of my 'doneness' has to do with me commuting 30 minutes a day to a job I despise and am not going back to after the baby is born.  I'm just waiting to go into labor so this little one can pull the plug on that misery.
