I honestly don't know what's going on. I saw the doctor and he agreed there was no fetal hearbeat and he said I have a "non-viable pregnancy". I measured at 7w3d so I wonder what's going on. Did the heart stop that exact day I had the u/s?

Anyway, he said that if/when I miscarry it's going to be bad and if I want a d&c he's more then willing to do it. If not, he's okay with that, too.

I do have another u/s scheduled for Tuesday if I don't miscarry by then. As he put it "to see if we're maybe wrong".

DH said that unless the u/s still says no or I bleed, I'm still preggy. I agree and so far haven't had any cramping. I did have some last night but chalked it up to the emtional issues surrounding all this. Today, though, no cramping.

Thank you ladies for being so supportive and helpful. Even if I'm out of the game, I'd still like to check in on y'all if that's okay. s

Oh mama, I hope the doc is wrong too! I'll be praying! I'm sorry you're having to deal with this!

I did want to say one thing...I m/ced at 9 weeks and it was like a short 3 hour labor. It was hard and it hurt, but it was emotionally healing and didn't come with the risks of a D&C.

Blessed helpmeet to my man, mama to Cody, Sarai & newly born Rebekah

I did the same as Family4Christ - baby measured 8.5 weeks (m/c at 12.5w) and it was around 3 hours as well. It wasn't painless but it was on par with a bad period (and I don't normally have cramps with my periods, so it wasn't that bad, really). I feel for you - I'm in the same boat but a little earlier.

I hope that both of us have good outcomes ((((hugs)))

I m/c at 12.5 weeks and i labored from 9pm until 6am ish when i pushed the baby out. It hurt A LOT. Not to scare you, but don't want to sugar coat it either.

I never had an option of a D and C because i had already had 2 u/s where everything looked great/normal/growing. It really sucks to never know why or what the heck happened

Maybe someone who has had a D and C can weigh in and let you know what the experience is like...

me, dh and 2 boys = our family (oh and a cat...who is also a male...lol)

DDCC- I had one at 13 weeks... it was no labor but it wasnt painless. It sucked and I wish I knew what to expect beforehand.

Good luck. Ive heard of weirder things happening than a heartbeat not found at one ultrasound and found at the next... its possible but of course... theres always the possibility it was right too.

I've never had a "natural" miscarriage so have no comparison, but I had a D&E at 13.5 weeks for a missed miscarriage. It was pretty awful. Even with twilight anaesthesia I remember the agonizing pain of having my cervix clamped and forced open. I don't know if that was typical. I have come to believe that I was pressured into it so that residents and interns could observe and participate in an "abortion." OTOH I don't know if I could have handled the horror of passing a 12-13 week fetus. They are kind of monstrous-looking in pictures, and definitely large enough to recognize. A baby at 8 weeks is much smaller.

I apologize if anyone finds this callous or disturbing. I wanted to share my experience honestly.

one other thing I feel is important for you to consider: although I had a confirmation ultrasound right before the D&E was done, I have been haunted for 6 years now by the possibility that I was carrying twins and a living one was missed. Totally irrational, I know.

Oh! I hope the news will be better next U/S..

I've had a natural miscarriage at 10 weeks and the labor was quite hard, but the delivery was OK. I'm happy I did it naturally and didn't get a D&C, cause I saw the placenta and know what I saw and am in peace with that birth.

Mama to 5 boys, F (13), J(11), R&X (8), L (2) and growing baby 6 due in Feb 11!!

Oh, Kitten. I'm so sorry.

In fact, tons of 's to all the ladies. I'm sorry any of us have had a loss.

I'm still walking around kinda numb to it all. Haven't had any cramps or nothing. Still have all symptoms of pg. DH is holding out hope that it was just too early to see the hb. My mom was with me and swears she saw something bright flash every so often. I am unsure how far along I was. I forgot to ask the doctor and have been going by one date I saw on the machine. Oh well, it's just a wait and see thing. (And I have zero patience which makes it worse.)

I have had a natural miscarriage and a d&c. The natural m/c was around 10 weeks, and the d&C wasaround 9 wks. THe natural m/c was a blighted ovum, so I only passed large amounts of fatty-looking tissue. It hurt but didn't last too long. The d&c was for a baby that stopped growing at 6wks. The d&c didn't hurt me, although I woke up from the meds screaming for my baby

If I had to go through it again, I think I might do it naturally. The d&c was mentally difficult... leaving behind my baby and not knowing what they did with it. I would rather endure the pain at home and have the closure of burying the baby.

I know I'm grasping at straws here. I just can't seem to help it. I'll know for sure in less then 11 hours one way or the other. We saw ds's hb when I was a little over 9 weeks (he measured over 8).

Think I'll just let it go naturally if the choice needs made.
