I have been constipated the last few days. Nothing too terrible and I had had some of the opposite a few days ago. Tonite, I have been feeling some low, either tightening feelings or possibly just cramps from the constipation. They kind of come and go. Has anyone had this type of feeling at the end of pregnancy? I also have some minor lower back ache that started a few days ago but is also off and on. Could these just be some constipation cramps mixed with a regular back ache?

I bought some Miralax today to hopefully cure the constipation but I haven't taken it yet.

Is your whole uterus contracting and hard?  Like, braxton hicks contractions?

It seems to start low and then move up and harden. ??kind of like the baby is stiffening itself?? but mostly just a tightening at the bottom. I think I'm leaning towards cramps.

I've had this just about every day since 30wks. I'm now 38wks. OB says they are practice contractions but these days they feel worse than that. Last night I woke up with such a strong contraction. Honestly I woke up in my half asleep state and wondered how I'll make it through without an epi. Which is totally rediculous because I've never even had one and I don't even know what they are like, weird!

i'm 35 weeks (plus a few days) and i just started experiencing what i'd describe as lower in the uterus cramps this last week. they only seem to be down low, and they're not all the time...

my uterus doing something in my opinion :)

I'm 35 weeks (yesterday) and for about a week now, I've just been alternating between constipation and diarrhea with no in between. Nice.

As for crampiness, my braxton hicks have been kind of taking on that quality too. They are more frequent and last longer than they used to and instead of just feeling like the uterus has gone like a hard ball, I'm feeling pulling down low, all the way to the cervix. And um, my back aches all. the. time.

Sounds like all of our bodies are in that long slow gear up mode. Get some work done now rather than putting in a marathon effort on labour day...but it sure can get confusing trying to guess what's going on.

I'm been having a lot of aching and crampy stuff going on.  With my dd, I only had BHs and lots of them.  With this one, I'm having both.  No constipation fwiw.

Well, I had a BM lastnite so today I am a little more comfortable but still have the same pulling and BH feelings. Now that I know I am being induced in 2 weeks I am not really interested in going into labor sooner than that so hopefully everything stays 'practicing'. om.gif
