Alright, I'm going to join. I've been waiting because of my history. It's hard to get too excited before like the midway point of a pregnancy. I've had 3 losses and this is my 6th pregnancy. But I just got a call that all my bloodwork came back great, progesterone and hcg are right where they should be. I'm only at 4 weeks 4 days. So I'm going to get a little excited.

* EDD: April 24th, so probably early May
* Age: 29, 30 in Oct.
* Location: Colorado
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: Um..we really weren't trying, so first try I guess. We always get pregnant very easily, it's the staying part that's hard.
* What number child is this for you: 3rd
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Dh, 35, Two girls, H, almost 6, and A, almost 3. One dog, two cats.
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): ?? Dh would be thrilled with a boy, I would be thrilled with another girl. But we really don't care either way.
* Names you like (& are willing to share): Waaay too early for that yet.
* Birth plans/preferences: Planning 3rd homebirth with my midwife

Mama to three wonderful girls, H (9-2-04), A (8-23-07), and Q(4-24-11, our Easter baby). Married to D since (6-3-00).

It's a great place. My mom loved it, although that was in the early 80s. I think someone I went to high school with may be a midwife there...you'll be in good hands!

It'll do! Actually, I'm finishing up a grad degree at OSU myself. IF I can still finish it and have a baby the same year...

* EDD: 4/8/11
* Age: 33
* Location: NJ
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: First Try!
* What number child is this for you: #2
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): My 3yo son and hubby.
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): I have this strong feeling it's a girl. If it's a boy, I'm pretty set in clothes for a while however!
* Names you like (& are willing to share): No clue at this point.
* Birth plans/preferences: Unmedicated - I'm really hoping to try natural this time. I didn't know better with DS and got an epidural so this time, I want to really try going with my body!

I'm kind of nervous about number 2 for DS is a handful! I usually have to chase after him and what not when we are out, so I'm glad I'm a babywearer. But still very nervous about how things will be!!

* EDD: April 20
* Name: Sonya
* Age: 38
* Location: Oklahoma
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: We were not trying; this was a surprise.
* What number child is this for you:2 (although one miscarriage in Feb, 2009).
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH - 41 yrs; DD - 9 months, 3 parrots (blue and gold macaw, umbrella cockatoo, and african grey)
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): no preference as long as the baby is healthy.
* Names you like (& are willing to share): None yet - just found out last night!!!
* Birth plans/preferences: See below
* Anything else you'd like to share: Goodness. Completely overwhelmed. Had a baby born last Nov (Nov 1) at 2 lbs, 9 oz via c-section emergently due to my severe pre-eclampsia. Was not trying at all, and have barely had intercourse due to hubby finishing his PhD. Trying not to panic as we haven't even waited a year since having our daughter. Please send positive thoughts our way for a healthy and trouble-free pregnancy! Worried, too, as we now live in a rural area, not in a city like when DD was born.

Congrats, everyone! Is anyone taking PNV's/supplements, and if so, what ones? What else are you doing?

Hello all!

* EDD: April 28
* Name: Allison
* Age: 36
* Location: Ohio USA
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: this is a surprise babe
* What number child is this for you: 3
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH, DS1--6yo, DS2-3.5yo
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): will be happy either way
* Birth plans/preferences: would love another homebirth but finances make that nigh on impossible this time; I have a lovely CNM and expect a beautiful hypnobirthing hospital birth!
* Anything else you'd like to share: just got my BFP this morning, so am still in a daze about it. The test didn't tell me anything my body hadn't already told me, but seeing it pop right up there was.... wow. We were on the verge of saying we were done having kids, but I guess God had other plans for us LOL Overall I'm thrilled to be here

Allison.... mom of DS1 (7) and DS2 (4) and awaiting #3 near the end of April 2011

* EDD: April 29th, late April
* Name: Lisa
* Age: 30
* Location: Atlanta
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: 3 months (cutting back on nursing #1 seemed to be the thing that made the difference)
* What number child is this for you: #2
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Husband is really supportive - a great labor "coach." My first son is 2 and a half.
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): It would be nice to have another boy because they might tend to play together more and could share toys and clothes more easily... but I must admit I would also love to have a girl. I think we will only have two.
* Names you like (& are willing to share): I named my first Aden, thinking it sounded unique! After realizing that everyone else had the same idea, I'm hoping to come up with something a little more unique this time around.
* Birth plans/preferences: home birth. My first was in Texas, and it was such a beautiful and peaceful experience. I am a total wimp with anything physical or painful, so I never expected it to be an enjoyable experience. However, I didn't believe I was even in "real" labor until I was 6 cm and then three hours later my midwife asked to check me again and I told her I doubted I had progressed because it had been so manageable. She checked and I was 10cm! I only hope that my second birth is as lovely as my first.
* Anything else you'd like to share: We're thinking a little about a Lotus Birth. I'm also trying to decide whether to find out the gender ahead of time, or wait until the birth.

I'm struggling a little with some of the lingo here. What is a "sticky baby"? I did figure out EDD = Estimated Due Date and BFP = positive pregnancy test.

It just means hoping it'll stick around and be a healthy pregnancy/baby (i.e., not a miscarriage).

* Name: (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know) Sarah
* Age: 29
* Location: Colorado
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: One cycle, DH and I are still shocked! I swore up and down to him it would take a few at least! Although our original try date was May and we put it off month by month for various reasons, so I guess it was just about time.

* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH, DD1, DD2 and the pup
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): Sort of hoping for a boy, but a girl would be great too! just a baby to hold in 8 months is all I really want!
* Names you like (& are willing to share): Eamon Robert for a boy, Mary something for a girl. Although we change our minds a lot!
* Birth plans/preferences: Planning my second homebirth

I'm new to these forums so I thought I'd start here...

* EDD: April 17th 2011
* Name: Mamaki
* Age: 32
* Location: Ontario, Canada (but I'm from New Zealand originally)
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: This pregnancy was a HUGE surprise (I was on birth control and apparently the chance of pregnancy was 1-2% per year...) but we're now happy about it
* What number child is this for you: #3
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DP, DD(6), DS(3)
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): I'm happy with either, but my partner would prefer a boy as it's his first baby
* Names you like (& are willing to share): Not quite there yet
* Birth plans/preferences: Aiming for a home birth for this baby. Last labour was only 3hrs and I was rushed to hospital via ambulance, midwife at a different hospital so delivered by OBGYN and no support person with me... would have been so much better at home, so that's the way I'm going this time.
* Anything else you'd like to share: As I mentioned above, this pregnancy was unplanned but we're now happy about it. Looking forward to meeting other Mums who are delivering in April 2011 also

Mummy to DD-8yrs (Jan-04), DS-5yrs (Dec-06) and DS2-19mths (Apr-11). pos.gif #4 EDD July 26 2013

Hi there,
After 2 MCs in just 4 months, I'm expecting again. I went today to have my HCG levels checked because every cramp, twinge or un-sore breasts have me freaking out....

But then I bought another pregnancy test and took it mid-day today, and the test line came up way before the control line, and it was super dark...I think it may actually stick this time!

So I'm hesitantly saying that my EDD is April 19th.

Which, by the way makes 4 children, whose birthday months will be APRIl, MAY, JUNE, and JULY . (Oh-and DH is August and I'm September!)

I am in desperate need of support, so please add me!
EDD: April 19th 2011
* Name: Marcie
* Age: 35 (36 next month)
* Location: Ontario, Canada (US originally)
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: I had 2 MCs in 4 months, so it wasn't hard to conceive, but I was starting to wonder if I could carry a baby at my "advanced maternal age"
* What number child is this for you: #4
* Family DH, DD(14), DS(9), DS(5)
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): My heart longs for a baby girl-my daughter doesn't live with me, (she didn't want to move to Canada) so I missed out on so much female wisdom sharing. But a healthy boy will be a blessing too!
* Names you like (& are willing to share): I love Indigo Ruth, or Noah Allyne (because after my last mc I went outside to see (and photograph) a full arch rainbow from across the street to the field next to our house.

* Birth plans/preferences: I'd like an unassisted, but may also be fine with a midwife assisted at home. Waterbirth for sure either way. LOVED my last water/home birth
* Anything else you'd like to share: I am in need of female companionship, as I am very isolated here. I also have an illness which puts me out of commission for days at a time. (Balance disorder.) So someone to talk to who is parenting with a health challenge would be a blessing. I also have to be honest and say I am having very mixed feelings about this baby, since it wasn't my preference to have another-DH wanted another one, (only his second biological child), so I gave in...but there are mixed emotions related to this...

Look at all us Canadian(-ish) mamas here at the end of the month! I'm jumping in - have gotten faint lines the last three days, getting darker, so it seems like it's the real thing!

* EDD: April 30th
* Name: Lindsay
* Age: 32
* Location: Toronto, Canada
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: First cycle of trying!
* What number child is this for you: # 2
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH - J, DS, O, 27 mos
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): hmmm, I'd love a girl, but my boy is so snuggly-cute, and there's the clothes thing. How about I'm hoping for either a boy, or a girl
* Names you like (& are willing to share): Oh I LOVE the name picking. It's a whole process that starts before we even conceive. Nothing I'm ready to share, though, yet.
* Birth plans/preferences: Would be so happy to have another lovely homebirth w my same amazing midwives.
* Anything else you'd like to share: Hmm. DS was breech at term, turned him around successfully, so hoping THAT doesn't happen again. Both my mom and my sister are midwives which is both a blessing and a curse, especially my mom, sometimes I have to lay down boundaries there (although as soon as I do, she's very fine and respectful). Worried about being sick, sick, sick. I had awful preg. sickness for the first five months with DS. awful, awful. I really hope it's not as bad this time. Also hoping/trying not to gain too much weight!

Lindsay, mama to Owen (06.08) and Sadie (05.11) wool.gifpartner to the amazing J.

* EDD: April 26th
* Name: Laura
* Age: 32
* Location: Philadelphia, PA
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: Second cycle on proper dosage of clomid!
* What number child is this for you: # 1
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH - M, an adorable mutt named Brooklyn (4 yo), and three kitties named Buddy, Louie, and Kingsley (all about 4 yo)
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): I'll admit that I really want a girl, but so many of my friends have boys that are just awesome kids, so I'll be happy either way.
* Names you like (& are willing to share): I can't share yet, but I can give some hints. My mother died when I was 19, and she was 49. Her brother (my uncle) also died before reaching the age of 55. The names I like are tributes to them, although they are not their actual birth names.
* Birth plans/preferences: I'm the last among my friends to have a baby and I've read all the research and seen how each of them birthed their children and I've decided to have a hospital birth with pharmaceutical assistance if needed.
* Anything else you'd like to share: This has been something we've wanted for a while and we're very excited and hope it sticks!

Hi ladies. I haven't forgotten about the thread. I just can't go in and change anything on my iPad. I can't figure out how to scan down in the reply box without moving the entire page. Anyone have an iPad that can help me be not so clueless? If not, I will try to get on my laptop soon and update everything.
