I would post my updated list here, but I don't have anything to change on it. irked.gif I've been doing TONS of cleaning, organizing, and freezer cooking and seeing some great progress, but there's still a lot left to do and nothing completely finished to the point where I can cross it off just yet.

1. Clean out pantry DONE

2. Clean out front hall closet DONE

3. Deep clean living room/Get new couch. DONE

4. Gift DS' clothes to someone else since this is another girl. DONE

5. Clean out bedroom closets. DONE

6. Clean out hall closet. DONE

7. Clean out bathroom closet. DONE

8. Buy new dresser.

9. Buy baby supplies. Clothes, blankets and bibs are a must.

10. Get car seat out of storage and wash cover.

11. Plan meals for postpartum.

12. Buy wrap or MT.

Okay I'm all done with my cleaning/purging besides possibly helping DH clean out the outbuilding if we get a "kid-free" day before the baby comes. If that doesn't get done before the baby comes I know we can do it on a sunny spring day and let the kids run around in the backyard while we work. Or DH can do it while he's home on maternity leave after baby comes. I know he'll go nuts sitting in the house for two weeks. Now we're down to home improvement tasks and buying baby things. I did get curtains and a new cushion for my glider. Now we need to recover the glider ottoman, repaint the fireplace, fix up the bathroom (paint top half, touch up paint on bottom half and hang pictures), finish tile on kitchen sideboard and refinish a cedar chest to go in the living room. I've been looking around for diaper covers, slings and a nursing cover on various boards. Some friends of mine are talking about throwing a shower for me so I'm kind of waiting on that before I buy clothes, etc.

How is everyone doing on their lists? I'll admit that I've slowed way down. Our homeschool activities are back in full swing and we're busy busy busy!

Here's my updated list - woot!  I've been freaking out about all that I have to do - so much isn't even listed here - and having no time and very little energy to do it.  To alleviate my stress DW asked to discuss the list.  I offered to email it to her, and she said we could just go over it.  I let her know it was pretty big, and she said that she'd still prefer just to discuss it.  Last night I flashed her the list on my laptop to which she responded, "Um, that's pretty big.  Maybe you should email it to me." orngbiggrin.gif  It looks like I'm going to be leaving work much earlier than anticipated, which will suddenly give me some time to tackle this.  Very exciting!!!

January

·         Patch nursery walls

·         Paint nursery

·         Hang curtains

·         Purchase lamp, rug and art for nursery

·         Finish registry

·         Get washing machine fixed

·         Register at hospital

February

·         Purchase freezer

·         Birth plan

·         Host baby shower – February 13

·         Send baby shower thank yous

·         Figure out breast feeding

·         Arrange for newborn photos

·         After shower (mid-Feb.), purchase "necessary" items that remain un-bought on baby registry

·         Make freezer food

·         Get window installed in basement

·         Complete home inspection

·         Make decision on placental encapsulation

March

·         Birth kit supplies

·         Buy fish net, RV hose (white), floating thermometer,  and waterproof sheet for birthing pool

·         Pack "just in case" hospital transfer bag

·         Baby first aid/care

·         Wash baby’s clothes

·         Prepare cloth diapers

·         Install car seat

·         Make freezer food

·         Create email list for first baby photos/notice

·         Buy a nursing bra/tank

I printed my list up and was shocked to see it was a page and a half long! wow. I posted it on the fridge next to the meal plan, so that I can be motivated. Also so that DH can see what needs to be done around here!

I've decided that the monthly to do list isn't really my style.  I tend to do whatever random thing I feel like doing that day...and so much depends on the weather this time of year too.  I like keeping my list there though - it's like a little support group.  So...I'm going to revise my format.

Furniture/House:

Take down the rest of the holiday decorations

Find a home for red sofa

Line baby's dresser with that plastic stuff

Take stuff to second hand shop - KEEP storage space organized

Organize the Garage - Yuck - Freecycle!

Refinish the high chest in dining room

Order handles for dresser and DC's desk

Bring mom's dresser downstairs and have her repaint THEN move it in

Find a spot for DH's dresser

Rearrange - Started

Look for a carpet for living room

Clean pantry

Clean bathroom closet - get some bins

Clean freezer

Birth:

Finish collecting birth kit

Gather nonperishable birth food/drinks

Organize and label birth kit supplies - show DH and Mom where/what everything is

Talk to SIL about being the food shopper for the day of labor

MW:

Return books!

Talk about transfer plan

Talk about PPH

Talk about pediatrician

DC:

Birth gift

Transfer bag

Talk about transfer

Give labor jobs

New Baby:

Wash clothes

Set up changing pad, clothing and etc.

Organize too big clothes - get clear bins

Organize pocket diapers

Shower:

Give SIL email addresses

Revise registry before invites go out

Thank you notes!

Misc:

Call friends

Tell Ped about new baby

Deal with new insurance

April/Close to the EDD:

Dig placenta hole, get rose plant

Arrange carpooling for DC

Install carseat

Install sidecar crib

Start making birth and postpartum foods

Give SIL a birth food shopping list

Get ice

eh i feel like most my to do list is shopping, which i am not too thrilled about. I bit the bullet and bought a new infant seat today at target. It was 50% off and as much as dh may complain about it, I just feel a lot better now that we have a new seat that will accomodate dd for a while since it is up to 35lbs. I paid only 49.98 for it. It is still new in box and everything but the manual was missing so i have to wait on the company to send me one, and it doesn't fit into ds's old stroller, but really I won't be using his stroller with it much anyway. Eventhough I have been looking at cribs a lot, I know as far as purchasing etc, I need to get the whole breastpump/insurance thing squared away so i can make a decision on that, i think i will do it now, because i keep putting it off.

ETA: called so one more think to cross off, they said they don't cover any breastpump costs, darn i thought they would. Oh well, I guess i will go with the ameda purely yours, I already bought the extra hygienikit now i need to buy the pump...

Figure out what to do with DSs while in labor/at hospital

Well I landed my rear on bedrest until 34-35 weeks at least so I'm beyond thankful that I felt compelled to get all the cleaning done in January! Besides moving DD2 in with the other kids and buying her a new dresser the house is ready for baby minus a bassinet and changing table pad. I'm having a small shower next weekend so I'll look into what else I need after that. This is my list.

1. Clean out pantry DONE

2. Clean out front hall closet DONE

3. Deep clean living room/Get new couch. DONE

4. Gift DS' clothes to someone else since this is another girl. DONE

5. Clean out bedroom closets. DONE

6. Clean out hall closet. DONE

7. Clean out bathroom closet. DONE

8. Buy new dresser.

9. Buy baby supplies. Clothes, blankets and bibs are a must.

10. Get car seat out of storage and wash cover.

11. Plan meals for postpartum.

12. Buy wrap or MT. DONE DONEDONEDONE

  DONEDONE

I'm going to try to go fill out a small registry on Saturday with DH if I'm up to it. I'll have to use a wheelchair, lol. I don't really care if people buy off the registry for the shower since I need mostly clothes and diapers but I want to register for a bassinet, changing table pad, etc. I feel woefully unprepared for this baby but my hands are tied in a lot of ways. I know my parents have bought some things but I don't know if they'll be coming up before the baby is born or after. I want to have everything done by 35 weeks or so since I think that's when they'll lift my bedrest restrictions and I could go into labor at any point after that with these contractions. That's only 4 weeks away! Eek!

I'm jealous - seems like some of you have got a lot done.  I've started a lot on my list but hope to get it done next week when I have an extra pair of hands.

  • make birth plan - not enitrely sure I'm going to do this anymore
  • review birth plan with doula and MWs - discussed everything with both and will keep going over it
  • arrange child care for DS and DD for labour and the early days
  • prepare labour bag - started
  • prepare for home birth - started
  • meet with Doula - met with her last week and will meet again next week
  • organize storage locker
  • organize & throughly clean master bedroom, kids' room (started), office, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room and all closets
  • purge unwanted and unnecessary stuff - started
  • organize kids toys - started
  • sort out all baby and kid clothes by size and gender - started
  • decide what baby/kid clothing to keep or get rid of - started
  • KEEP HOUSE CLEAN (a huge challenge especially since I'm the only one who actually cleans)
  • make a couple of freezer meals for the postpartum period
  • get baby bassinet, wrap, baby clothes and bouncy chair from my parents' place
  • buy infant car seat
  • convince DH to get large vehicle (since we can't fit all 3 in our car)
  • get nursing bras

plus the other non-baby but just as important stuff like registering DS for school and other activities.

I'm finally starting to be able to actually cross things off of my list instead of feeling like I'm working on it 24/7 with nothing to show for it. Still lots to get done, but hoping most of it is finished in the next five weeks so we're ready for baby to get here once I'm full term even though it will probably be about four weeks after that.

To Do
  • Clean out back room, make room for birth pool and futon
  • Clean and reorganize basement
  • Deep clean and declutter main floor of house
  • Get out 0-3 month clothes and put in drawers, get everything up to 12 months out of storage so it's easy to access when baby moves up sizes, wash new and stained baby clothes
  • Get newborn cloth diapers and covers out, lanolize wool items, make sure all baby carriers are usable, pack diaper bag with baby stuff, assemble breastfeeding box
  • Cook freezer meals, set up Food Tidings page, stock pantry with basic foods
  • Help plan showers, collect addresses, mail invites, attend showers, and write thank-yous
  • Attend Hypnosis for Birth classes, water aerobics classes, and chiro appts, get massage at start of third trimester and on due date
  • Move garden boxes off of deck
  • Keep list of people to update after birth up-to-date
  • Pack transfer bag, make emergency birth plans, make hard copy list of names in case top picks don't fit
  • Get all birth supplies together, organized, and easy-to-access, double-make bed, move futon into back room, test birth pool and accessories
  • Install DS's new car seat (or the extra one) and re-install convertible rear-facing with original pillow and padding, have both seats inspected by car seat tech
  • Belly cast, henna, maternity pictures
  • Choose gifts for DS from baby, for baby from DS, and for midwives

To Buy
  • Birth Kit, towels & wash cloths
  • Wet bags, snappis, small diaper covers, diaper detergent
  • Gifts for/from DS, gifts for midwives
  • Cordless phone with speakerphone
  • Stock up on household items: disposable dishes, toilet paper, garbage bags, plastic bags & food wraps, dish soap & cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, toiletries, etc.
  • new car seat for DS (can use his extra seat for a while if needed)
  • new booster seat for dining table (can use the seat he has now until baby starts solids if needed)

    In Progress
    Done

Mama to DS1 (12/07), DS2 (4/11), and DD (6/22/14)
Finally diagnosed with APS after 3 s (11/09, 3/10, 7/13)

for those looking for breastpumps drugstore.com has a deal on all baby and mom stuff 20% off with code baby20,  I got an ameda purely yours for 125$ shipped. They have all kinds of items in that section as well, even prenatal vitamins, which i also purchased the other day. They have some nice natural products for baby as well, like california baby products, seventh generation etc.

I am so tired of looking at dressers on CL for ds! Ugh! I find a nice one and boom it is gone already, it is very frustrating. If we get ds's dresser than i can start getting dd's changing area organized and all the cloth diapers and stuff put away and figure out if she is going to need more dresser/clothes space which i am sure she will knowing how my family likes to give clothes. I just want things to start fitting together and i don't plan on buying the crib until a few weeks before EDD, after my shower and once i get more amazon credit banked. I also  think i have a random ring sling i need to locate instead of buying a new one.

Bump...

It's nice weather here so I cleaned my car, fixed my sunroof and at least opened the garage door.  The garage is the bane of my existence.

I still have absolutley everything still on my to-do list. Do to some financial issues, we have had to push back moving. We will now most likely be moving the first week on March. I can't get our baby stuff, or stuff for our homebirth, out and ready until then. Not to mention actually getting my house all settled in so that it will actually be comfortable to labor in, until we are all moved in. Plus, since I am our sole income currently, I'm trying to pick up as many shifts as I can so that I can actually take some sort of maternity leave, and still be able to pay all our bills. DH is currently looking for a job, and says he'll just cut down on his classes for school when he finds one. It's just so tough in this economy.

I am feeling so unsettled. We're still not sure where we'll be living. We've filled out two rental applications that we will turn in this week. Niether place is availble until the beginning of March. We're still not sure how we're going to afford for me to take time off work. I won't know until tomorrow at work if I will be able to change my status to full-time, and get a more regular schedule. I don't even know what I can do to prepare anything at this point.

Melissa Wife to DH, Mom to DS (6) and DD (3) We are a homebirthing, no vax, intact, devoutly LDS happy family!

I'm actually due May 1st, but here goes:

take the hypnobirthing class(we are low on funds right now so I keep putting it off)

clean out the baby's closet(this is up to DH..it's all his JUNK)

get a new mattress for DS and put the organic mattress in baby's room

wash all bedding, clothes, blankets, etc.

inventory diapers, make sure there is enough

I'd love to have the playroom complete, but again..that's going to be up to DH, he's got stuff that he has to do in there that I can't do.

start drinking RRL tea and order more prenatals..almost out!

figure out who is going to watch DS while I'm in labor (probably MIL)

get the bassinet from the inlaws and make sure I have enough sheets

inventory after the baby shower March 27th, fill in gaps

make a few freezer meals(not too many, I'm assured by family and friends that I'll have meals prepared for me for at least a month, which is fabulous!)

DH(9/04) DS(12/08) and DD(5/11)
