and we are so thrilled that we changed to homebirth. We liked our previous midwives but love these two, and I feel so relaxed with them. BP was 118/74.  It sounds like they have lots of knowledge and experience to get a baby turned, if need be, and really know how to handle births (which is hands off unless help is needed). And it sounds like they're friends with our doula. They seem confident that I could go semi-fast (ie they said they might need to hurry when its time) since my first labor (before pushing too early at 9cm) was 13 hours.

That's fantastic news for you.  Good care providers rock!

We are switching to a home birth too and have the first meeting with the midwife tonight. It's so exciting!

I'm seriously considering homebirth and was nervous about switching to a midwife so late in the game.  I'm glad that you found someone you like and it went so well!

Our meeting went great. I really feel like I can be open with our midwife, even more so than other care providers I have seen before. She went ahead and did a prenatal visit and I felt much more relaxed in my own home. I'll admit I am still a bit nervous about birthing at home because it's new to me and there's not much time left until this baby gets here.
