The babies were born Feb 28 at 5:11 and 5:19 respectively. Asher was born first and weighed 5lbs 1.5oz and Boston weighed 5lbs even. My labor was crazy! I'll do a birth story later but I was lucky enough to have them both vaginally.
Boston was intubated over night and they were both on CPAP yesterday morning but by this evening they are both breathing on their own and doing well! There is definitely some jaundice and they've started bililights. We got to hold both of them and they both "nippled" a little - aka they rooted and licked my boob. It seemed they both wanted it and knew what to do which is great at their age. However they are being fed by gavage and both are on IV fluids so right now they are getting only what little colostrum I can pump and the IV fluids. Hopefully my milk will come in soon but they have human breastmilk if it doesn't.
I haven't even asked about how long they'll be in the NICU. I don't think they could answer me anyways. I'm just so happy that I got to hold them both within 24 hours! Honestly I feel like I *should* be crying that my boys are in NICU but they are beautiful and I just can't help but be happy.
I had to stay on magnesium sulfate for 24 hours so I felt like crap all day yesterday but today I'm feeling much better and anxious to go home and see my daughter!
congrats to you mama! I can not wait to hear your birth story and see pics of the little ones. I hope your babies are out of the NICU soon!
Wishing you and yours the best!
