Hi Ladies!

I was due April 11th with my 2nd child, a girl, and she was born at 1:45 am on April 1st!  My water broke the night before at 11:20 and we arrived at the birth center at 12:30 am.  They checked me at 12:45 and I was only a 3-4 and in so much pain.  45 minutes later, I was complete and ready to push!

I had my son in the hospital with an epidural so this was a totally different experience.  I kept saying I couldn't do it, I wasn't sure (that was when I was in transition).  The contractions were so intense and coming right on top of each other.  I pushed for 15 minutes - also unsure if I could get her out.  I was screaming that I wanted them to reach in and get her out, lol.

She's beautiful - 6 pounds, 12 ounces and 19 inches long.  Of course she felt like a 10 pounder coming out!  We left the center 6 hours later and went home to introduce her to our son.

I'm so glad I did it differently and I loved so many things about this birth, including holding her right away and getting to lay together as a family in bed and having them not take her for her exam, weight for 2 hours after.   But, it was really painful, probably because it was only about 2.5 hours long, and it was definitely the hardest thing I've ever done in my life.  She's definitely worth it though!

Oh and my son has strep throat and is so lethargic.  I can't even be around him since they're worried about me catching it and so my husband is taking care of him while I take care of her.  Such crappy timing but hopefully he'll be feeling better Monday and won't be contagious soon after.

Hope the rest of you are doing well and that you'll be holding your babies very soon!

Congrats!! That IS a fast birth. I have your edd too so I'm jealous that you are done.  Yes it makes complete sense that the intensity of the pain was due to the speed of the labor! Did you feel anything leading up that day?   I hope you are able to process it all and enjoy your LO. I'm sorry about your son being sick, that is no fun, especially for him to be sick and away from mama. I hope he heals up soon. Post a pic when you can.

Congrats!!  joy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gif

Congrats! My last labor was also only 2.5 hours and that makes it really tough. You did it though!

Congrats!  And send me some fast labor vibes please.  With DD my water broke at 8pm on a Friday and she was born at 4pm on Sunday, 44 hours later.  Praying for a faster birth this time!

Here's a pic, hope it's not enormous.  This is about 5 hours after birth.

As for anything different that day, I was actually in kind of a bad mood.  My son was being super difficult and I was exhausted.  That night, I went and took a hot shower before bed to help relax and then went to bed listening to my Hypnobabies Come Out Baby track.  I think I listened to it 1.5 times (asleep) before waking up to my water breaking.

Beautiful baby!!! :) I've had fast, intense labors also.... my mw said sometimes it feels a little like you got 'robbed' of the birth experience; it's over before you got to figure out what was going on and there are no lulls, ebbs or flows just BAM!

I also love your babies outfit!!! Happy babymoon, mama.
