So here I sit 41 weeks, 3days still waiting...I have tried senna tea (my midwife likes that better than castor oil, although we may resort to that), had pineapple, plenty of spicy food (I live in NM), been doing squats, I hang out on my yoga ball, walked miles with my dogs, etc. I haven't had sex in a week because of nasty yeast infection (gotta love getting one at 40+ weeks!). I am starting to get desperate. We have planned a homebirth, but if I do not have her by Thursday I am facing an induction This is my first and I wanted it all to be great.
I am having acupuncture today and will walk some more, and there is a full moon! I was just wondering if anyone had any other ideas.
You can try evening primrose oil. But in all honesty, I'd try to let go of the desire for a "perfect" birth. There is only so much you can control when it comes to labor and birth. Your babe isn't going to come until s/he is ready (barring an induction), so you can try all of the tricks, but they are only going to get labor started when your body is ready. Try to enjoy each day knowing that soon you are going meet your sweet baby!
I'm in exactly the same boat at 41 weeks and 2 days. I know the baby should chose her own birth date, but if I don't go into labor soon, I'm also facing a medical induction. I'm walking at least a mile every day and had an acupuncture treatment on Friday. I do feel like I have had more regular small contractions since the acupuncture and lost a big chunk of plug this morning. I have another acupuncture treatment on Monday if labor has not started. Crossing my fingers that I'll go into labor on my own soon.
Have you had your baby yet? I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow and I so know how you feel. I've tried everything, even the castor oil (NOT fun, NEVER doing that again). All that ever happens is practice labour, never the real thing. I hope everything worked out for you. I'll be facing induction in a week too, home birth plans out the window
Not sure if you were asking me or the OP, but nope, no baby yet. But, the house is semi-clean and we have groceries in the fridge so today or tomorrow would be great. I'm not getting my hopes up though. He'll come out when he's ready. Of course, that's a lot easier to say than to sit around here feeling huge. And my brain is so gone, I forget the strangest things. It's getting on dh's nerves, and mine as well.
I was asking the OP but I'm curious about everyone who is overdue like me!!! I'm 41 weeks today, saw my midwife and nothing much has changed except I've been getting regular painful contractions since S&S. That doesn't really mean a whole lot though as I've had this off and on for the past 2.5 weeks and it never seems to go anywhere.
