For those of us who were fortunate to gain a million pounds...how much have you lost so far? I havent started working out(4 weeks PP), I'm giving my csection time to heal properly...although it feels so much better.
I weighed myself last thursday and was at 175. I started out at 160...and at my last appt a few days before having baby I was 220. So I lost 45 lbs right off! And I can tell in my clothes bc they are hanging off me. I was getting mad when I was pg bc everything was tight and now im getting mad bc im always tugging them back on! lol..never happy hehe
Hope everyone is doing good!
i only gained 21lbs.18 days pp ive lost 13. so i started at 122, went to 143 now im 130. but my belly is still "fluffy"

I don't know how much weight I gained, as I didn't weigh myself in the week or two before I gave birth (and my midwife never weighed me), but I'm 5 weeks postpartum and ready to start exercising again to try to flatten this belly a little bit (I don't expect it to be "flat," though, as it wasn't before the birth!). But I'm close to my pre-pregnancy weight through giving birth and breastfeeding. I'd like to lose a few more and really tone up.
I'm actually a lot more bummed out by the stretch marks around my belly button (which didn't show up until after I gave birth) than the shape of my body. I'm hoping they'll fade with time.
You know what I love about my post-pregnancy body? The bicep definition I got by holding my son! It's not "bodybuilder" definition, but it's way more than I had before. My husband noticed it a day or two after I did, and I love it! ;)
i'm so happy for all of you.
I'm NOT in the same boat. I gained a million lbs. 61, actually. which might as well be a million. I've lost between 15-20- that last 5 kinda fluctuates back and forth. Luke was 4 weeks old yesterday. I have no clothes that fit as I tend to gain more weight in my butt and legs. I am sick of wering my maternity pants so I went to get something the other day and when the 16s were too tight I decided I'm not buying pants. I started off at 165 and my weight the day I delivered was 226. (I'm just over 5'8") I gained a ton with allof my pregnancies and have to work hard to lose it so this is nothing new to me. Its still frustrating. I have to work very hard to keep weight off.
I started walking last week. This week I'm starting Pilates but I am still having some spotting and she doesn't wantto clear me for more activity until I"m no longer bleeding. Hopefully once I start spinning and running it will come off faster.
I hate being fat. I got rid of all of my fat clothes. I have nothing that is bigger than a size 12 (except maternity stuff) after dd2 was born I had maternity clothes, fat clothes, not as fat clothes and regular clothes. this time I have maternity and pre-pregnancy. I don't fit in either.
I was about 5 lbs down from my normal weight of 140 at 135 for some reason. I was at 180 before I delivered and because my boobs were so huge ( I went from a 34C to a 34 F) and my torso is so long, nothing was fitting at the end there. Now I am about a week PP and am down to 162 ish. I will wait at least another week before walking but am very excited to be active again! I suppose I am not too worried about losing the weight, especially since I just don't get a chance to eat more than two or three meals a day when my husband isn't home to feed me! haha. I used to snack way more. Plus I don't have the pregnancy hunger I was feeling before.
As far as clothes go, I was wearing yoga pants before and will continue to wear them. Not even my fat pants fit. Oh well. With time. And soon I can wear skirts! At least now I can wear my regular shirts, sort of...
Good luck everyone! Summer is a great time to be outdoors and feel active :)

Remembering our 3 losses
2 weeks post partum here, weighed 203 at birth, started off at 157lbs pre baby. and today i weigh 176. I havent done anything as far as exercise, I am tandem nursing though!
I'm doing good here I am 1 week PP, weighed 181 pre pregnancy and weighed 208 at delivery today I weighed 187 I am very happy, because even at 181 I am still 20lbs from my prepegnancy weight with DS1. With DS1 I weighed 160ish and delivered at 220 3 years later I still weighed 181 I seemed to have stalled out there.
I think breast feeding is a big factor this time for me. I did give DS1 breast milk but I pumped and bottle fed because we had latch problems and I was dealing with some bad PPD With DS2 he is an awesome nurser and I also snack during night feedings on high protein foods maybe this has something to do with it
I started out at 189 and made it up to 116. At time of delivery I was already down to 112 because of being off my feet. I'm down to 191. I'm hoping to be down to 180 by my 6 week appt and maybe 170-175 by the time I return to work so that some of my regular clothes fit again.
my m/w never weighed me but i tried to keep track of my pregnancy weight gain. i started out at 106 and at 37wks i weighed 154. i gained about 48lbs. yesterday at exactly 3 wks pp i weighed 126. my weight loss goal is 113-115. i was too scrawny at 106. dh complained i was too bony. lol
So glad so many of you are losing weight so quickly! That's awesome!
I'll be 1w PP tomorrow. I hadn't weighed myself at home in a couple months, but at the MWs office I was 220ish at my last appt (middle of the day, fully clothed of course). I weighed myself this morning and was 191. I started out around 155.
neuromancer, they'll totally fade. so long as they didn't stretch your belly into odd shapes, you won't notice them in time. my stretch marks on my boobs really did a number on their shape though. only looks bad/weird when i'm not lactating, so as long as i make milk for the rest of my life... :D
i'm about 15lbs away from my pre-preg weight at a little less than 4 weeks PP. waiting to completely stop bleeding (thought i was done, but turns out i'm bleeding once a day wth?) and then i'll start working out a little. back in my pre-preg clothes though, so yay for that.
How is everyone doing now as far as weight? I'm 18lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight. Still in my maternity clothes. I have a really stretched out stomach. It's dangly! How on earth can I get my muscles strong enough to lift the floppy part?
cancer-beating wife to DH since 7/4/09, mother to DS 5/1/11 + DD 8/21/2013
ps. I hear you about the dangly bit... any tips anyone?

still have 40 lbs to lose before I get to pre-pregnancy weight. UGH! Its SOOOOO much. Started running again and have done a couple of spinning classes.
My son is 6 months old now. I hadnt weighed myself for months before getting pregnant, but my usual weight has always been 110-120. At my first doc appt while I was pregnant, I was down to only 102 because of the severe nausea. I finally got up to about 143 before giving birth. I was able to wear my pre-pregnancy jeans within 2 weeks pp. One month pp I was back to 120 lbs. But my shape is not the same. My boobs are still huge (my 34D pre-pregnancy bra just barely keeps them contained, I need money to shop for a new one because I dont always want to wear my nursing bras/camis). Plus, my stomach is definitely still flabby and my jeans all fit tight. Just waiting for the weather to really improve so I can get out and walk.
Ugh...I hate the last of the baby weight. I just really want to wear a pair of pants that aren't maternity (and I'm 2.5 months post-partum)!!! I'm about 11-15 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight, however, the shape of my body has changed. I don't really care so much about the number on the scale, I'd just like to fit into my clothes again, especially as I don't have any maternity summer clothing. I've been back to the gym as of two weeks ago and I'm trying to get exercise every day even if it's only a walk with the baby. If sure I'd be seeing some progress if I weren't so hungry ALL OF THE time!!! (And if I'm being honest, went back to my pre-pregnancy eating habits...I'm a bit of a junk lover now).
I had an abdominal separation during pregnancy so I've been advised to rebuild my core slowly and very specifically. I believe you're supposed to work on building the transverse abs first. If you inhale deeply, then as you exhale you blow the breath downwards push out your stomach and contract your abs (and do a kegel at the same time for good measure). That's the area I was told to target first.
DW and I are moms to two teens (DD 17 and DS 15) adopted through CAS in 2007 and a toddler (DD 2) born at home in March 2011.
