Tried castor oil Sat (41w3d) but nothing except a bleeding bottom. My MW broke my water in the office Sunday (trying to avoid the postdue ultrasound Mon), my cervix was very ripe, soft and 4-5cm but still no labor. Went to hospital Mon morning at 8, started pit at 10, really kicked in at 11, by 1130 I was asking for an epi, MW checked me and I was 6-7 so then I definitely wanted it since it took me about 7 hours to go from 7 to 10 last time. But the anest. was in the OR where they were sectioning twins. 12 they shut off the pit but contrax still super strong with no breaks at all. It was darn awful. At one point I opened my eyes and looked at the monitor and the contraction line was straight along the top with a tiny little dip between (like 10 sec). I was yelling my head off the whole time. 1230 I was feeling pushy (too late fo that epi now) and by 130 I was complete and Analise Rose was born at 144. 8lb6oz and 21 1/2in, she had a true knot in her cord and her first apgar was a 3 but it was up to 9 after 20 min. It was petty scary with all the nicu folk running in. I have to say that having had a cesarean, vbac w/epi, and vbac w/o epi I prefer the vaginal birth with epi. After having experienced all 3 I don't feel guilty saying that. lol.

Congrats! Well done for getting through it despite the awful pain and no epi. I guess you had no choice at that point but you can still feel proud!!
