and were they boy or girl?

Just wondering if there is any truth in the higher heart rate being girl and lower bring boy. We go tomorrow for our ultrasound and I am SO excited to find out what we are having. I have 3 girls and they were all upper 150's low 160's. This baby was 150's at 7 weeks and 145 last week at 18 weeks.

Ava's was considtantly around 160.  I don't remember with Dylan (but she's 8).

This baby was 150 but was 145 last appointment.

DD's HR was always around 160.  This baby has been hovering around 140, and she is most definitely a girl.

I have had two girls so far and their heart rates were always in the hight 150's to low 160's.  So far this baby (gender unknown) has been in the high 150's.  Guess we'll have to see.

At 12 weeks, his heartrate was 150ish. At 15-16 weeks, he was in the mid 140's. At my big U/S where we found the gender, his rate was 131.

lol. When I was pg with Ava I asked my midwife about the heartrate trick. Of course, she was always right in the middle so there was no guesing anyway. She said that it's a wive's tale and that she had 2 women who knew the sex of their babies and the 130 baby was a girl and teh 170 baby was a boy. That made me laugh but the antecdata I am getting from others is that the heartrate trick is somewhat accurate.

At the first two appointments, the heart rate was 160. At the US where we found out the gender it was 147 and it's a boy. I don't think it's a good measure. :)

Mine's been all over the place- 155 (8wks), 172 (11wks), 156 (13 wks), 146 (15 wks), 156 (19wks), and at the U/S it was 138 (20wks).  Can't exactly recall what the other two were, although I think my son's was a bit lower than his sister's...

I don't think that wives tale is true. I am having a boy, and his HR is different every single time. at 12 weeks, it was in the 150's. at the U/S is was 133. My last appointment, it was 160. So, I think it just depends on how active theyre being at the time of checking.

My midwife said that the heartrate really only depends on if they are awake or asleep when you are listening to it.  My first DD was always upper 150s, but my second DD was always in the 130s.

Update: This one was 158 on 22 wk ultrasound. So, an average of 150-160 for the heartbeat. At the 20 week scan they said she was 80% a girl, so looks like the higher heartbeat thing is at least sometimes true.
