I've never been one for really crazy cravings until this pregnancy. Ever since the beginning, I'll think about something or hear something mentioned and it's what I've GOT to have!

Last night it was Ting, a grapefruit soda from Jamaica. There's only one place in town that sells it. I want one so bad. It's either find that store or fly to Jamaica.

Tonight it's fried calamari. I'm so tempted to go to Carabba's and get some! Too bad DH is in bed with pukeys...

What are you craving lately?

it's a pretty typical pregnant lady craving. i have been craving pickles. i *actually* ate pickles and ice cream last week and have gone through jars of pickles these past couple of months. before this pregnancy, i would go through a jar of pickles a year.

now that i am typing all of this out, i want to eat pickles and ice cream again. eat.gifredface.gif

eta i adore ting. LOVE!

also, i have heard good things about conch, but have never lived in florida. have you ever had it?

1. What flavor ice cream do you eat pickles with? That's one I've never tried.

2. The only time I've had conch is raw/sushi. It was chewy and I wasn't a fan. I think cooked it may be better.

Okay, now calamari sounds amazing!  I haven't been craving too many things...mostly sweets or salty chips and I need to start eating better and a bit more as often I'm just too lazy to make or eat anything or stuff just doesn't sound good.  Though Pepsi, or Cherry pepsi always sound good. smile.gif

Calamari with a spicy aioli sounds awesome.

For me, it's sushi (I like the cooked kind so I got to indulge last night but I want MORE)

Chocolate cake

And french lavender ice cream

That's me exactly! I hear about it, and then I can't stop thinking about it until I have it. Currently I'm loving my tub of Bryers Double Churned Dark Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream.

Argh. I cannot get enough carrots right now. I eat 'em unpeeled and whole. Crunch crunch crunch. Probably going through 2 lbs a week!

Meat! Since I'm on a restricted diet for glucose intolerance, I think I'm sublimating all my carb cravings and instead craving big slabs of protein.

Oh - and margaritas 2whistle.gif  I make a mean margarita - no mix, all top shelf! I still have a while 'till I get to indulge in that one...

 DD1 (8yrs) + DD2 (6yrs) + DS1 (4/25/11) = one crazy adventure!

fruit fruit fruit...

I eat fruit salads and whole fruits and frozen berries like they're going out of style!

MILK chocolate (after a couple of years of training myself to like darker and darker chocolate - I was LOVING the 91% dark)

Carbs/Grains (which I've NEVER craved before in my life, and my midwife just told me to back off of.)

and of course, meat, but that's not new, and I'm allowed to have as much of it as I want! :)

Fruit here too! Apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, and if watermelon was in season I think I could eat a whole one myself. Cheese and beef too. Veggies, not so much.

I usually crave ice cream at the end of pregnancy and had a banana split a couple of weeks ago and haven't wanted ice cream since.

Happily married, busy mom to a houseful :-)

Expecting again early Oct 2014!

Meat!

Strawberry Ice cream - which is weird for two reasons, 1) I'm not a huge ice cream person and 2) strawberry goes down as my least favorite ice cream ever. Though the organic summer strawberry ice cream I'm eating these days is a far cry from the flourescent pink crap foisted on me as a kid.

Peas. Maybe for the protien? I am hoping spring calms the heck down so we can get a good crop of spring peas in the area. Frozen is ok, but there is nothing quite so good as fresh spring peas.

Tea and Water- I'm thirsty ALL the time. I'm hydrated just fine, but I think it's because I drink cold liquids constantly. Luckily the tea I am craving is my current blend: 3 pouches of red raspberry leaf, one pouch of of red zinger to add some sweetness and one pouch of third trimester tea, brewed for 20 minutes and then made into iced tea.

Oh, you guys have GOT to try this! I'm so not a cottage cheese person, but I got a new blender yesterday and decided to have some fun. I mixed some strawberries, cottage cheese, a little bit of sugar, some milk and ice and got a really good smoothie! Packed with protein, and I didn't have any cramps last night and I didn't wake up hungry, something that is not normal for me!

I'm craving the same things as this time last pregnancy, which I find funny.  Milkshakes and sandwiches made on baguette.  Yum.  I have tamed the milkshake beast by making smoothies with frozen berries, banana, spinach and soy milk instead of ice cream.  Sandwiches I am trying to eat wraps more often - less carby than a big slab of baguette.  But I indulge here and there.  I think a lot of other things tend to trigger heartburn for me, so these two foods are milder on my tummy and that might factor into the cravings.

Damn delicious wonderfulness in this thread!!!

Milk Chocolate is definitely on my list.

Recently fruit has been so wonderful!!!  Oranges... yum!

Every time I have a salad I remember how great it is.

If I could do it without guilt I'd probably live on mac and cheese.

I have really enjoyed ham and cheese and tomato sandwiches on rye recently.

Everything I hear about I want... there is a trip to pizza land in my future.

I'm trying to be good I swear I am.  I have really enjoyed vanilla ice cream with caramel.

Edited to add:

Virgin Pina Colada blended topped with whipped cream from the Mexican restaurant nearby

Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale - I guzzle this stuff and it never ceases to be a wonderful awesome experience.  It's the gingery-est.

I've only really craved three things this whole time.

Avocado

Margaritas

OJ

OJ was in the first trimester and with all the nausea and vomiting I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy that particular drink ever again.

I had to have HD make three separate trips to the store because first he got this sour cream dip that was avocado flavored- Ugh, No. and then he got the right dip but forgot chips. :) He's probably lucky that I haven't ad more cravings but he's been very good about the few that I've had. I haven't tried a virgin Margarita and I doubt I will. I would rather save it for the real thing.

Fish, chicken, steak, natural liver pate (can't find it anywhere and not willing to make it myself) and "Viva" a Romanian snack that is actually pretty healthy but so not available in the US. I only found it if I were to order $1000 worth. If only I were rich. lol.gif
