My countdown to due date clock says 44 days!  But, I don't even feel close to ready for this baby.  I have so much to do at work before then and my family has been uncharacteristically fighting one illness after another for months, so I haven't even been thinking about this baby arriving.

We need to clean out our closets and stuff we've been storing under our beds.  I need some storage space for this baby's clothes and things!  We need to get our DD2 moved into her own room (which has been ready since her birth) but she's still sleeping with us especially since she's been fighting illness too.

I've get to get the cloth diapers out and wash them and organize the changing table to accomodate this baby as well as DD2.  I've looked through baby clothes once and know I have to fill in some necessities, and wash everything.

We need to clean out and reorganize our kitchen cabinets to allow for the breast milk storage stuff and pump accessories.  I need to buy a new pump too.  Mine just isn't as powerful anymore after heavy use with three babies.

I'd like to paint our bedroom and bathroom and get new bedding and towels before baby comes to make it a nicer place to hang out, but there is slim to no chance that is going to happen now!

Even after making this list, I'm still not getting up to do any of this!  I'm just doing a few things I need to do for work tomorrow and maybe I'll start on some of this stuff the folowing week!  Ha Ha!  I hope I get back to nesting soon!  It was going pretty strong in January, but has completely faded away!

Anyone else in denial or is everyone ready?

I have *so* much to do. I'm officially at freak out point. 42 days till due date. The thought of being full term in exactly 3 weeks is mind blowing. I'm actually thinking of calling my parents and asking them to take the kids for a couple of days this week (it's their spring break) so I can put in some serious work time to get caught up and serious nesting time to feel like I have my home in order.

 DD1 (8yrs) + DD2 (6yrs) + DS1 (4/25/11) = one crazy adventure!

It's crazy how close it's getting! I'm due end of April/first of May so have about the same amount of time left as you, and I still have a list of things to do. I'm purposely holding off on some of it till next month, so I don't go stir crazy at the end. I always go to my due date and would be shocked if I actually had an April baby, so I think I have time... but time is FLYING! I was just thinking earlier how the first of Feb seems like just yesterday when we had all those icky snow storms, and that how that much more time from now it will be due date time! Wild!

Happily married, busy mom to a houseful :-)

Expecting again early Oct 2014!

I'm due at the end of May so I have a bit more time but honestly, I'm in denial that May is just around the corner. I don't feel mentally ready to have 2 kids yet, especially with DS being so needy lately. I really think I'll be fine to go to 42+ weeks just to have a little extra time.

It's definitely real to me, after this weekend - I bought two little onesies yesterday (the first purchase for this baby, and we won't likely buy a whole lot more) and today I pulled out the newborn clothes and diapers to start cleaning them.  And yesterday I started filling out pre-admission forms for the hospital (which left me feeling a bit of dread, actually, but hopefully we won't be going there, it's just in case we need to be admitted!).  So all in all I feel like a baby is coming really soon and I'm SO excited!

But that said, we will never be fully ready, and I'm okay with that :)  There are about 50 things I would like to get done, decluttered, cleaned etc but we might only get to 5 of them and life will go on.  I spent the last month of my previous pregnancy SOOOOOO stressed from undergoing two bathroom renos (we had a home birth with only the upstairs tub operational and the bathroom torn to shreds, I had to go downstairs to use the toilet until the afternoon after DS2 was born, at which point my DH and his dad did a temporary install of the upstairs toilet to save me the trip!).  So this time around I just want to make sure we have a few diapers, a few clean clothes, and I figure the rest will either get done or it won't, I am not letting myself stress about it :)  I am watching for a deal through Groupon etc on housecleaning and hoping to snap one up and have someone in for a few hours to clean, as a treat to myself.  That would be pretty nice, we had someone in the day I went into labour with DS2 and it was lovely to be puttering around a super clean house (which required no effort on my part, LOL!) in the days after his arrival :)

Oh yeah, pre-admission paperwork.  I'm so not prepared!  I haven't even visited the hospital and I will be giving birth there.

LOL, the only reason mine got done is my midwife gave it to me, and she will bring it to the hospital for me after I return it!  Otherwise I can imagine dragging my heels and never getting it done (which I imagine is why they hand it to you and collect it back, harder to avoid it!).

This is my mindset...all the baby needs is mom, milk, some diapers and lots of love.  It'll be warm in May so even clothes are optionalsmile.gif  I'm feeling very pregnant...but am not sure how ready I am to add a 4th yet.  I still need to pull out baby clothes, though I have a few that I've bought since my other boy clothes are getting a bit used and old after 2 other boys...otherwise most things I'll eventually use can be pulled out as needed...and the only thing I want to have before baby gets here is a wrap that I have ordered through a co-op...

excellent point mama.  i will begin chanting this to myself.  although the one thing on your list i still don't have is a diaper stash.  i've been researching like crazy to see exactly what i want and who has the best deals (i used a diaper service with dd, so i know how to use them, just don't know exactly what i need).  i swear i dreamed about cloth diapers last night.

Most of the time it does not feel completely real yet. And when it does, it starts to freak me out a little bit! It is definitely going to be surreal to jump from a family of three to a family of four!

Baby clothes and diapers are semi-organized but not washed yet. I have a sizable list of things I would like to get done, but like a previous poster said it's likely that about five things will get done out of 50.

I have about 49 days left and was happy to read that someone else is in the same boat as I am.  I just finished organizing my girls' closets and rooms but have yet to bring anything out of the attic.  I did go up there and pull all the cloth diaper bins and 0-3 mth bins up front so DH can bring them down but I really need to get on the ball.  I came down with a horrible cold yesterday so I'm just dying to go to sleep.  I'm hoping to get everything washed this week.  I really should have moved DD2's clothes into a new bureau as her bureau is also the changing table but I think I'll just be using the co-sleeper as a changing table for a while.  The only thing I have purchased are cloth wipes.  I need to do an inventory and probably buy about 10 more Kissaluvs or some other type of diaper to avoid having to wash dipes every day.  Yes, so much to do.

I have been nesting like crazy...pulled out and washed and put away newborn-3 month clothes. Bought my diaper covers and stocked up on some prefolds and made some contour dipes. Have been organizing and rearranging the house and tryyyying to keep it clean(impossible.) Purchased a moby for the newbie and an ergo for my 12 month old. Got a double stroller handed down to me as well as a pack n play with bassinet and changing table.

Need to make more contour diapers

Need to make more wipes

Need to make yummy nourishing soups to freeze for postpartum

Need to do yoga daily

Need to breathe and mentally prepare

This is so me.  I'm waffling between not really thinking about things to panick about how quickly May is approaching.  It wasn't until I looked at a vacation calendar for work to try & plan my mat leave & remaining vacation days that it really started to sink in.  Even a friend commented last week "You DO realise that you're HAVING A BABY don't you??  My word, I don't think you do!!"  lol.

There just seems to be so much going on that I guess I haven't put nearly the thought & planning into the birth as I did with my first (isn't that always the way though?).  I guess I had it in the back of my head that I've already got newborn clothes & cloth diapers so all I really need to do is dig them out, wash them & pick up a pack of newborn sposies for the first week or two.  After all the babe only needs mommas milk, some diapers & a sling/moby right??  But when I actually started to think about it & look around my house it was the house itself that has started to panic me.  My house needs a good spring cleaning like it hasn't had in oh so long & I need to start stocking the freezer with meals & muffins etc.  I booked a couple of vac days to help get started on this stuff but by nature I am a total last minute girl.  Thankfully last time DD didn't arrive until 39w6d but I have a sneaking suspicion that this one will come earlier.

& in the 30 seconds since posting realised that I also desperately need to:

-catch up on my hypnobabies practices  (5x daily really!!?!?!)

-actually start exercising - despite the best of intentions I haven't been getting much exercise at all.  I'd love to say that I'll be walking every day at lunch & starting some proper yoga stretches at the very least EVERY DAY.  According to http://www.katysays.com/2011/03/07/when-push-comes-to-shove/  I think it'll make a HUGE difference to my labour especially given how tight my hips/hamstrings are right now.

So, I completely freaked out on Sunday about all of this. Called my parents and passed off the kids, drove to the closest big city to pick up a bassinet I found on craigslist, bought a breast pump, bought hanging shelves I can stick in the "office" closet (slash baby room, I guess...) and have worked a 12 hour day so far today to try and get caught up.

I'm feeling....better! Now to wash dipes and clothes and insert into hanging shelves.

It's so annoying to need a bassinet - we cosleep - but with 4 dogs, we need somewhere to put the baby UP! And there's no way there's room for a crib in our house.

We gave away EVERYTHING after our second - I feel like a first time parent all over again, without the benefit of anyone buying us stuff.

 DD1 (8yrs) + DD2 (6yrs) + DS1 (4/25/11) = one crazy adventure!

Yeah, we have to get our house ready to put it up for sale! I'm so worn out and we have so much more to do. I just really want to sit and relax and take care of the kids but I have to clean, organize and purge so that my house looks as good as I can make it. Ugh... LOL

YES, exactly. With 67 days left, and I'm suddenly so grateful for the 20-odd days I have on some of you. I realized the other day that I made a HUGE mistake in sticking the box of diapers in storage - I was just there 2 days ago and have NO idea where that box went. No carseat yet. No bassinet of any kind but that's not terribly key, though it would be nice. Hope to tour the hospital this week but I need to check to see if my MW can still watch the kids -the hospital doesn't allow them at the tour (I just want to say, Seriously? They're homeschooled, they've seen birth videos, they can handled it!.. but no.) MW is the only woman I know well enough to both ask and trust with my kids, and she did say she should be able to  when I told her about them. Not planning on a hospital birth, but I don't want to end up transferring to somewhere I've never even seen the inside of before. Hoping my mom really IS making those wipes. Need to buy a moby-ish thing. I'll probably make my own. And wash everything... the diapers, what clothes we have, and since I can't find my girlie newborn clothes, I hope if this LO's a girl, she looks good in blues, greens and yellows. ;)

And we're really hoping to move. Again. Before the baby is born. Just have to find a place. Which would be great in so many ways... but then I think REALLY?? I guess if we find the right place it's meant to be and otherwise, we'll make it here. Trying to leave that in God's hands and out of my brain.

Which... really.... lol.gif

It's such a relief to finally trust yourself.

yeah, totally not ready. DH has been working on house projects every spare second he can(which isn't much when you work 50+hours a week). He assures me that the closet in baby's room is going to be cleaned out before she arrives, so I've stopped nagging him about that, but really just mentally preparing for mothering 2 children is what's on my mind constantly. I've got a pretty good flow to my schedule going now..once baby arrives..it's all gonna change! we don't have a mattress for her crib, a double stroller, etc..but I'm not that worried about that. Those are things we can purchase afterward. Honestly, it's not like we really need her closet cleaned out right away either..I just hate that i have no where to put all her toys, bumbo, baby bath, walker, bigger clothes, etc. Right now everything is just in piles in her room!

LOL - We had a crib for our first but never once used it so that's where all of the other random laundry & "stuff" ended up.  It's a great storage device!!

@ the two mommas moving b4 baby, I can't imagine!!  The idea of trying to clean & purge & then keep the house spotless all the time on top of that would give me a coronary (or maybe I just need to tidy more often so that it doesn't get so bad....)

How do you ladies find the energy? I'm dead weight after just a normal day, I can't imagine adding moving on top of that.

I don't have any energy, don't know if I'll be moving. Probably not until after baby is born but I am stuck getting everything looking at it's best. I'd rather take a nap. lol.gif
