Anyone else thinking about carbo-loading before labor? I've been on a low-carb diet for gestational diabetes, but am thinking about trying to significantly up my carb levels during the last few days before my induction so that I have extra reserves during labor. (I'm using mealtime insulin so I can just increase that along with the carbs and keep my blood sugars in range.) Nothing crazy, but maybe 50% of my calories from carbs vs. the 25-30% that I have been doing so that I don't go into ketosis within a few hours of getting induced. Yesterday a nurse tried to convince me that I needed to be on a clear liquid diabetic diet during my whole induction, which seemed to amount to little more than sugar-free jello and sugar-free ice pops, but I'm going to find a way around that :)
