Oh no. I'm so so sorry. I'm also confused. I thought you had a measurable baby just a few days ago? How could you have nothing today? I had a missed miscarriage where the baby died at 8 weeks and it was still there but deteriorating until 15 weeks. At 15 weeks you could still see it on the ultrasound, no problem (and then I miscarried). How can yours just be gone from one day to the next? How many weeks were you?

I'll be thinking of you.

I agree it has me stumped also. Since almost a wk ago there was a baby measuring 6wks roughly. very wierd.
.
I should be 8wks, He didn't really move it around much to look around.

I know with my missed m/c at 10wks the baby somehow measure 6wks the rude midwife did the measuring then a week later at 11wks i started bleeding and went to the ER and they measured it at 8wks. I didn't fully m/c that baby til when i would had been 13wks along and it was like labor lots of cramping.

you know, that IS weird...hmmm...maybe they didn't look around enough?? that does seem odd that they would find NOTHING after seeing a baby a week ago...I was 10 1/2 weeks when we found out about our missed m/c (miscarried at 11+2), baby measuring roughly 6 1/2 weeks...so if there was already a baby there, it shouldn't have disappeared completely...

oh mama, this is horrible.

it is so hard to lose a baby, and to have all of this confusion makes it so much harder. i'm just so sorry you are having to go through this.

i really hope your beta results show something clearly.

isn't that a good thing? I've heard doubling is standard but rising is still good right?

I'm assuming so. I sent a email to the dr i saw this morning, saying i saw my lab results and it went up since the last draw and was wondering what the next step is, now to wait to hear back from him.

Oh, what a horrible ride you're on right now. I'm sorry, and still hoping you get a miracle here! Your results are weirdly ambiguous, aren't they?

Yes they are, it's frustrating to be told it's over with a beta that is still rising.

The dr just called me saying even though it went up it didn't go up in the way they expected to see and he still thinks it will end in a miscarriage and said to stop the progesterone that i'm taking.i'm thinking of just using the rest of what's in the bottle and then stopping it. there isn't much left in the bottle.

I'm so so sorry, i've been following your story and crossing my fingers for you.
We were in the nursing TTC thread together, before and after my loss earlier this year.
I was so happy to see you graduate. My thoughts are with you.
I hope you get a definative answer soon.

Sorry to hear about the bizarre waiting situation you're in Its so tiring to hold onto the hope when all you need is some concrete answers. I had a m/c this spring - at 10wks I started to bleed and by the time I got into the U/S and heard back from my midwife, it was 4 days. Ugh. My u/s showed a blighted ovum - fertilized egg but no growth I agree with everyone else that it seems weird that they saw a measurable baby and then nothing!
Hugs!!

Oh this is so frustrating!!! I can't even imagine how frustrating it must be for you if it's this frustrating for me. I know you must be having major "they screwed up and my baby is really alive" fantasies. I sure was when I had my missed miscarriage but continued to vomit and be ravenously hungry. Mine was really dead but I would sure love it if yours wasn't. I find it so callous that they're treating you in such a casual way, like this isn't a big deal. It *is* a big deal.

I would personally ask for a repeat ultrasound. (Also a repeat beta in a few days so that you can see that the levels are going down.) For me that is what put my fantasies to rest. Once a second person measured it at the same age that the previous person measured it at and also thought it was dead I believed it and stopped imagining all the things that I would say once I found out my baby was still alive, etc. In your case it's just so strange that they can't find anything at all that I know I could never really believe it and that would mean that my body would never let go of it. As it was it took me another three weeks to finally miscarry after I started believing it.

I would also write to the doctor and ask him to explain how it is that your baby could just disappear over the course of a few days. I am really interested to know if that's truly possible or if they're just as incompetent as the stories in your posts always make them sound.

Big hugs to you.

Sarah, mother to Eloïse (5/2005), Lucas (3/2008) and Ilias (7/2011), and due with #4 (March 1, 2014)

Kami - I'm so sorry for all that you're going through. I think I would definitely want a follow up us in another week. I don't understand how you could go from a developing baby to nothing. I know you've been bleeding, but you would have to have been bleeding extremely heavily for that to happen. I would also want to recheck the HCG in a few days or so.

I'm hoping for a miracle baby for you still.

Thanks girls

sarahmck~ I think i will send off a email asking how that is possible since that is just freaking odd. I've not had any bleeding heavier than i've been noticing and plus if i was really having a m/c i should have had cramping and i haven't had any. I plan on next week sending a email asking for a repeat beta.

swimming-duck~ I'm going to send a email asking how that is possibly, should be interesting to hear that answer since to go to nothing, you need to have lots of bleeding and cramping. i've had no cramping.

Thanks for the compliment. I figure it's not over til i see a beta that is declining and start having cramps. So far neither are happening so i'm holding onto hope that it's just a slow grower.
