I hope it's okay to post this here. I'm in no way affiliated with this company. If you want a cheap sling, go to www.sevenslings.com. Pick out a sling and enter code "halloween". You'll get the sling for free. I had to pay for tax and shipping which totaled roughly $15. I've never used this brand, so I'll be trying something new. But thought I'd share in case anyone's interested in getting something for their new arrival!

The code "pumpkin" also works. I used it last night to get a free sling.

I just ordered one too. This is a new company, but this is the second time I've seen a "free" sling deal. I hope they are good quality! I love baby carriers and wanted to try a fitted sling.

They also do nursing covers as well (on a different website). I ordered a "free" one from them for a friend. I found it helpful as a new nursing mom, especially in the early days, when both hands were important for supporting my nursing baby, I needed to see what was going on, and I was very nervous about showing anything! Phsaw. I've come a long way!

I'm looking forward to my black sling coming!

A gal in my parenting group got one and liked it OK. Just a note: they come with no instructions at all. Comfy Joey has great pouch instructions, even though they make only ring slings now.

As of today the promo codes are still working! Woo! I just bought the sexy black one.

For those looking for it, there are decent instructions on the website, even if it doesn't come with any :P

a question for the sling wearers: i have a pouch sling from last time and am borrowing a ring sling from a friend to try that. what kind of baby bag do you end up using with a sling?  i use a shoulder-style tote, but i always found it awkward to balnace the body mechanics of babywearing in a sling plus having a large tote on one shoulder. any tips?

I often use the sling on my "quick trips".  BTW, I really loved the fitted seven slings version on our latest airplane trip.  It was just a simple piece of fabric in my carry on, but I could hold our tired toddler hands free while going through the airport and still push our luggage in the stroller. smile.gif  Anyway, often when I'm using the sling, I am in the grocery store, so I just put the bag in the cart.  If I am on a quick errand or something, most baby things can stay in the car while I run into the PO quick or something.  If I REALLY think I need something, I will stick it in a larger purse (which I have learned to keep REALLY light weight.  If we are going on a long walk or an all day type excursion or something, carrying my chunky baby in a sling wasn't super comfortable for longer than 30 minutes or so.  I much preferred my mei tai.  Then we might use a backpack or a stroller for all the family gear.  Strollers are great for stuff and some older toddlers, but not really for babies, IMO.

Onbag! It's made for babywearing. You can tie the straps just like a woven wrap. Wear it rebozo style, like a sling, rucksack style like a backpack, however. There's even a free pattern to make them if you are crafty. A friend made mine for me.

I got a seven sling a while ago, and an uddercovers nursing cover, using a promo code. I don't remember what it was though. I got the black sling and the purple nursing cover. And that's pretty much the sum total of the baby stuff that I have. lol
