Mommy to an exuberant 3 yo and a new one!
S & Y and 2 DS... H (7) and K (3) and a September 2015 baby!
I found out w/ my m/c at the 12wk u/s, so I am pretty nervous. With Z though, my placenta was in front, so I didn't feel movement until 23!!! weeks, so waiting that long I think would have freaked me out!

You are not alone in low tech. We haven't heard anything, seen anything and it's likely we won't for several more weeks. I may actually feel baby (I tend to start to notice quickening about 14 weeks) before we hear any heartbeat.

I decline all testing unless I feel there's an issue -- no bloodwork etc. I do one ultrasound later on because I do like to know the gender and if we do choose UC I'd love to know if there were twins in there or something else I'd like to be aware of, and I do like to hear the hb every visit if they can find it but am fine with fetoscope when they can hear it with that.
So, moderate tech but zero interventions here

My first pregnancy we had an early ultrasound because of a prior early loss/chemical pregnancy so we knew right away that things were growing and doing fine.
This time I'm just over 7 weeks and haven't been to the midwife yet, but have an appointment for 9 weeks...still too early to hear the heartbeat (didn't hear my daughter's until after 11/12 weeks) so I'm actually hoping to start having some more morning sickness soon! I thought I'd be much better at going with the flow, but I keep asking myself if there's really a little one in there.
We'll hear soon I guess! Probably won't do an ultrasound until 20 weeks.

This time around we are going straight with a HB midwife. Although we wholeheartedly believe in the low tech approach, I have had such a hard time trusting that there is a live baby in there. My gut feeling that something was wrong just grew and grew and finally last week we asked for a referral for an US. Seeing that little baby with a strong heartbeat and growing just fine really helped me relax and believe in this pregnancy. Now I feel much more confident with only the four weekly midwife checks with the doppler and/or fetoscope.
It is just so hard at the beginning when you can't 'feel' anything there. (ignoring the RLP, nausea, exhaustion etc)
I don't necessarily consider myself low tech but since I have yet to have an appointment I haven't heard or seen the baby. This stage of pregnancy - the last few weeks of the 1st trimester and before the 1st appointment - can be very trying for me. I've felt sick for a long while, have heard a rumor that I'm pregnant but have nothing tangible to go on. I'll feel so relieved to hear a heartbeat and be able to begin the process of connecting with my baby and falling in love.

I haven't seen or heard the baby yet but that's because I haven't had an appointment yet. I didn't do u/s last time but I did do a doppler at one appointment just to confirm the heartbeat. I don't know what I'm doing this time. I just haven't decided yet.
I have had one appointment to pee on a stick at 4 weeks, haven't seen doc since. There is absolutely no point in my opinion. I really do have a whatever will be will be attitude towards pregnancy. I am 8.5 weeks now and will probably have a prenatal appointment around 12 weeks. I won't hear baby until the appointment after that around 16 weeks. I will have an u/s at 19 weeks to check for birth deformities and thats it. No tests, no amnio, nothing. I think we are going to pay for a private u/s around 24 weeks for gender identification.
So far nothing here either. I'll also be 10 weeks tomorrow and am meeting with a midwife for the first time. If she offers the doppler I'm not sure what I'll say...
DD (01.08) and blissfully expecting #2 next June
I've not heard anything yet either. I've listened 3 times with the doppler I have at home, but I'm only 8 weeks so am not overly surprised that I'm not hearing anything yet. Still undecided regarding any US. Haven't been to the doc yet either. Meh, we'll get there eventually.

i've read in various places the advice to avoid ultrasound if possible since we still aren't sure of the long term effects. so that's what i'm doing. this is my first pregnancy and i think it would be really great to hear the heartbeat, but, i can be patient and wait until the fetoscope picks it up. i've been so sick and swollen feeling that i'm pretty sure something must be going on in there!
Me! Me, me, me, me! I have seen and heard nothing!
We were so hands off with my daughter. We had no ultrasounds and minimal dopplar use (first few appointments and during labor). But I am not sure we are going to end up doing with this pregnancy. At least it is "easier" and cheaper to just wait things out. I am praying that I will hear a heartbeat on dopplar at 11w5d. Then I will be able to really relax. The 20 week ultrasound will be another quesion that we'll answer down the road. I wish I was a more peaceful second time Mama, but ignorance is bliss! I really think I need to get off these forums for a while!
Happy Wife since 12/31/05 ~ Blessed Mama to 2/8/09 and 6/11/11, with on the way due 2/24/14
Nothing yet either. I've only had the initial meeting with the midwife, then a huge gap. It feels kinda weird! I'll be seeing her again when I'm 10 weeks 5 days... would a fetoscope pick up a heartbeat then? I'd rather not use a doppler if possible. I've started showing, so I'm not that worried about the baby , but it does feel kind of strange not "knowing". I had a dating scan with DD at 6 weeks, but I was sure of my dates this time, so nuthin'.

No midwife appointment yet (except the "do we want to work together" interview). Won't see her until 11w 5d and we hope to hear a heartbeat w/ the doppler then. I am really eager to hear the wee one so I can relax a little. I love working w/ low-tech midwives, and yet, I admit that if one of them said to me around 8 weeks, "Go get an early ultrasound so we can see the heartbeat," I would totally do it because I'm usually such a wreck the first trimester!
