So this is a S/O of a conversation I've been having with some people IRL.

Did/do you have a gut feeling or mama instinct as to your little ones arrival?

Whether it be the exact date, a few day window, ect...

1/2 of the people IRL just schedule c-sections, so I'm curious about this group who is far more aware of their babies and bodies.

Thanks for appeasing my curriosity :)

My last two came on the monday before their EDD so I can't help but feel like tonight/tomorrow will be it!  I don't feel like I'm in labour or anything but I feel a very strong need to get my house in order just in case history repeats itself.

Hehe, well, a few months ago I had a dream that baby would be born on June 10, and it would be a boy. According to the ultrasound it's a girl, and June 10 came and went and no baby yet! So that prediction wasn't worth much. I don't really know now.

I hate dates I 'preferred', but I'm every date I thought the baby was going to arrive it didn't with either of my first two.  This one?  I'm not even guessing.

DD was born on her due date and I really thought she was going to be right around there. As for this one, my initial guess was the 20th or 21st (official due date is the 26th). I am starting to wonder if it might just be a little sooner than that, though. I am really trying to keep it out of my mind - I don't want to get all worked up about all this prodromal labor business because I am cranky enough as it is, LOL!!!

Absolutely not, never. I have no intuition about these things.

My maternal intuition isn't worth squat. I thought I was pregnant when I wasn't; then I got pregnant with DD and didn't know about it for ages; then I thought she was a boy; then pre-eclampsia hit me out of the blue and I was induced, so the due date thing was kinda moot. This time around... well, I did know when I got pregnant, because I charted, and I suspected boy again and was "right", but that's about the extent of it. 4 days past our due date today, and I have no idea whether the baby will show up tonight or in 10 days' time! Sorry. :p

With dd my doula phoned me on Sunday to tell me that she was over her cold/flu and I replied "Hmm. Wednesday would be a nice day to have a baby." I was joking. Dd was born that Wednesday (39+1). This time 39+1 is also a Wednesday (6/15)...I've tentatively "called" it but who knows???? Ds2 was born at 38+6 so I have a history of going a week early...part of me wants to start one of those FB betting pools...

I thought it'd be very close to my due date, maybe 2-4 days early. Then I started having prodromal labour around 37 weeks, and thought the baby would definitely be here before 39 weeks.

I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow. orngtongue.gif

yes...I had a gut feeling I would not go overdue with my LO. I remember telling EVERYONE that. My MIL, parents, hubby, my midwife at my 39 week appointment that he would arrive the week or weekend before my actual due date. I was right. I was due June 1st and he arrived exactly 1 week before on May 25th.

I had a gut feeling with DS #1 that I would be late. At least 1 week late. And I was right with him to. I was due March 9th and he was born on March 13th.

For me I think it helps because I can feel ovulation so I know pretty much exactly when ovulation happens. So it's no guessing with the actual due date of the children. Even though they calculate based on LMP. My periods are not usually 28 days but I always know when I ovulate. So I go on ovulation date.

The times I've gone into labor on my own, it's been right at 39w4d. So, I marked on my calendar June 21 or 22 as when I'd have this little one. We'll see! He's not here yet and that date is fast approaching! I've not gone overdue in 4 previous pregnancies and went to the 39th week even with twins, so I think this coming week we will have a birthday!  I'd love for it to be the 22nd as then my kiddos will have 14/18/22 for b-days and that's so nice and in order :D I've also always had my babes during the day between 9am - 6pm--an OB's dream LOL

I sure do think tomorrow would be a nice birthday...  Summer solstice, baby!  I'm due Saturday, and DS came at 39w2d, so really, any day now... I'm so tired this morning that I hope today's not the day!  Up and down a million times last night, feeling stiff and old.  I feel ready and not ready.  I wrote next week's schedule on our fridge calendar, and it's almost July!  Kinda shocking to think I'll probably have a baby before then.

Well, I originally said June 18th because both of my other kids were born on a relative's birthday close to my due date.  My first on my MIL's birthday, my second on my husband's aunt's birthday.  So my cousin's birthday is June 18th and I am due June 24th...I thought it was possible.  Guess not.  LOL!

Now I have no feeling whatsoever.  I have no idea what to expect.  My contractions are definitely starting to come more frequently, but not any kind of close together or any pattern.  I'm probably not even in early labor yet, it's probably just BH.
