Isn't it funny how some well timed gagging//barfing makes us feel better!

I rented a doppler last time. I don't know if I will this time. I'll be having more u/s than normal, plus it might be hard to find two heartbeats.

My good news of the day is that I haven't had any spotting for a whole week - maybe that part is behind me.

Soliciting positive thoughts from whoever reads this before 11am Pacific time today.  I have my first pre-natal visit and will have a dating ultrasound.  SO NERVOUS!  Please, please, please let there be a healthy, growing, living, little baby (or two!) in there!  Should be 8w1d, and I've been so sick and puking, so I hope that's a good sign.

I think I'm just in time to send you lots of goodvibes.gif

I am just back from my appointment, and other than some embarrassment when I realized I'd given them dates that were a whole month off and hadn't noticed when they kept talking about June, me being 2nd trimester, etc., it all went very well.  Heartbeat in the 170s once we finally found it (I think the midwife was looking for it where a 14-week's heartbeat should have been).  blush.gif

no5no5, did they find it with the doppler? How far along are you?

My appt was supposed to be Friday but we've having issues with our van and it needs to go in the shop on Friday so I called my OB to see if I could move it up to tomorrow and they said yes...so my appt is tomorrow! AGGHHH! I'll be 9w3d and I am hoping that he will be able to find the heartbeat with the doppler.

Javilu, I know I'm a little late but thinking good thoughts for you!

THERE'S A BABY IN THERE!  little beating heart, and everything.  i didn't get to "hear" it or get the exact number, but the OB said it looked good.  she even showed me the little umbilical cord.

there was a tiny scary moment when she didn't get a very clear picture and originally measured the baby at 7w3d, but she got better resolution or something and re-measured and it was 8w1d on the dot!  that's right in-line with my estimate and she confirmed an EDD of 7/26.

unfortunately, the little print-out pictures she made were super tiny and don't look like anything, but i know what i saw, and it was good!

PHEW!

now, back to the barf-fest.

Yep.  I am 9w6d by LMP but 10w1d by O & ultrasound.  I will keep you in my thoughts tomorrow, Annie, but I think it's pretty rare to hear a heartbeat at 9 weeks, so try not to agonize if you don't hear it.  I know that's impossible.  hug.gif

Had my second appt today. The OB tried to hear the HB w/the doppler but couldn't get it. Not too freaked out but it did remind me of last time trying to find the HB at 9 weeks and not getting anything. He's having me come back in two weeks and he'll try again. He said if he doesn't get it then, he'll send me across the street to the hospital for an ultrasound to check on the baby.

Sounds like everyone is doing well!

I'm only a little nauseous and very tired! Really need to get off my butt and shower and get out of pj's. We go back on Wednesday the 22nd for our next u/s. Hopefully then I can put some of my worries behind me. It really, really disturbs me to see or hear about people that have lost a twin and get so happy about it. I'm terrified about losing one and can't imagine feeling like that. Fortunately most days are pretty good and I don't worry too much. I'll update Wednesday night after my appt. If everything goes well we might tell the kids. When do the rest of you tell  your kids about a new baby? When we had dd2 we didn't tell dd1 until three mths. She's very sensitive and would be upset knowing we lost a baby.

We told DD from the beginning.  Well, actually we waited about 2 days, LOL.  She is also very sensitive, but with our last miscarriage she was only 2 and I found that talking about it with her was essential.  I mean, she was 2, but she wasn't blind.  She could see that I was in pain and bleeding and miserable for days.  I don't think it would have been fair to leave her with no explanation.  Plus, honestly, discussing it with her was really hard but I think it really helped me work through my grief.

With my last pregnancy, we told the kids at 10 weeks. Then I found out at 11w5d that the baby had died and I had to have a D&E the next day. So we have decided this time to wait until we see/hear the heartbeat closer to 12 weeks. We saw the heartbeat at 6w but I haven't had an ultrasound since then. I go on Dec. 30 for my dr. to try with the doppler and if he can't find it then, he'll send me for an ultrasound. I have the NT scan scheduled for Jan. 10. We'll tell the kids after all that is over with.

With my last two pregnancies I no sooner had told my two girls (8&10yrs) than found out within a week that I had lost it. This time we haven't told anyone and are waiting until after my ultrasound at 12 weeks which is scheduled for Jan 6th. After that I still may wait, depending on how much I'm showing. It would be nice to tell them sooner as it would help explain to them why I'm so tired and not feeling well, but as far as they know mom just has a touch of the flu. I just so look forward for the holidays to be over.

We told DD and her reaction is "baby is in the tunnel" (aka belly button). Now I am only 11 weeks, showing some.

I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat. I have another one on Wednesday, which I am nervous about. We tried to pick up the heartbeat last week with a doppler at the midwives appointment...she tried hard but we didn't find it. She reminded me (both before and after) that it is normal not the hear it before 12 weeks. I did well the first day, but then I worried a good bit. I am hoping that since my breasts still hurt, that's a good sign.

I had my 12 week appt with the midwife today and I got to hear the heartbeat! We only caught it twice for a few seconds at a time so we couldn't measure how fast it was but we distinctly heard it twice. I am so excited because I wasn't expecting to hear it today (never hear my other boys till 14 weeks).

We told my boys right away this time. With my last pregnancy we thought about waiting but we knew that if I had a miscarriage again it would be awful and the kids would know something was going on. So we just decided to tell them. It was a little hard for my oldest who is sensitive and a worrier. He would say to me sometimes "I hope this baby doesn't die". It was a little hard but it was good for him I think. We would tell him "we hope so too sweetie".

Would you be willing to share a picture of your u/s?

Also, I'm sorry I don't remember, but were you on fertility treatments or anything?

Its been a pretty crazy 24 hrs. I'm trying to follow my sisters advice and not think too, too far ahead today. There are so many things to consider. We were doing fertility treatments, but still thought our odds of this were pretty low. All the babies measured within 3 mm of each other. All were around 8 weeks which is a bit behind for my dates, but there are three of them I guess and we heard heartbeats for all of them. I have u/s photos if you are interested in them:

So I haven't spotted for three weeks and then had some last night. It seems to be gone for now. I tell you though this pregnancy is going to give me grey hair! No cramping or anything so I'll go back to my usual deep breathing of the last seven weeks. Have a great Christmas everyone - hope you are all feeling very pregnant.

Just popping in to say, leslie, wow, what overwhelming news, but wonderful!!!  Your spotting is just that third baby settling in and establishing territory.  I'm so glad to see that you, no5no5, meander, and the rest of you ladies are doing so well!  I went with the August DDC, partly because I like being at the forefront of the group Sheepish.gif , but also because I don't want to feel like I'm counting my chickens by assuming I'll be going early...does that make sense?  I'd rather sit tight in the August DDC and focus on being hopeful and believing in our little ones.  I still keep checking up on you ladies. Lots of love to you all!!!

I'm mildly panicked.  Yesterday, my nausea wasn't nearly as horrible as it had been before (and it was BAD - like, I'm on generic zofran, bad) and I didn't once feel close to puking.  Today, I haven't even needed to take a zofran pill and while I do feel nauseated, I'm munching on some crackers and it's helping.  I think I might even be able to shower.  I'll be ten weeks tomorrow.  With my son, I was very sick well past 12 weeks...

And, almost as an aside, but not helping my anxiety, when I went in for the zofran prescription, I had to give a urine sample, but only managed to give them a dribble and it was definitely NOT a clean catch.  And I hadn't showered in days.  Now they have me down as being GBS+ and the nurse called to say not to worry, but I will need antibiotics in labor???  I'm not even TEN WEEKS yet!  I do plan to ask for another test, with an actual swab (and after using Hibiclens, myself) closer to term, as I had such an awful time at the birth center with just the fetal monitor getting in my way, I can't imagine that PLUS an IV!  Ayyy.  Okay, I'm not going to stress about this.

But I am stressed about the decreased nausea...

If it helps you any...

With this one my nausea changes from day to day. Some days I feel like I can't leave the bathroom or have to tote a bucket with me. Others I'm not phased at all.

With DD3, I was continuously sick up until I went into labor. With the first two I never had morning sickness. Each pregnancy really can be different in any way possible and everything work out.

Hugs!

I'm mid-freakout here ladies. This is my moment of truth week. I'm 11w1d today. With my last pg, I made it to 11w5d before I started spotting and then we found out the baby had died. I go for my next appointment on Thursday to check for the heartbeat.

I keep telling myself that this pg is so different than last time. My symptoms had pretty much disappeared by this point last time and I am still very very sick right now. I'm starting to show and it's not just bloat. But still. I need to get to Thursday so I can hear this baby's heartbeat! And my dr has already said that if for some reason he can't get it on doppler because of my retroverted uterus, he'll send me across the street to the hospital for a quick ultrasound to check on the baby. So I'm glad that he's taking my nervousness seriously.
