I had my baby a month early on June 10th but she is very healthy and doing great! I can't believe she is here! My birth story:
I had a planned c-section for July 1st. DH had to work out of town during the week and I was nervous because if I went into labor before the last week in June it would be 1) hard to reach him and 2) take him over 4 hours to get home. Last Sunday I was having back pain that felt like my period so I went to L&D to get checked. I was told I was 3 cm (had been for a week) and 60% effaced but the monitor did not pick up contractions. I went home and contractions stopped. I went about my week and Friday morning I had two gushes that felt like I peed myself. I thought it probably wasn't my water but just incase I made an appointment to see the OB. My OB was on vacation so I saw one of her partners. My appointment wasn't until 2pm. so I spent the morning packing my hospital bag and cleaning the house "just incase" not thinking I would really be going to the hospital. I dropped DD off at a class and DS was getting a ride back from camp.
The doctor checked me and said my water had broken and that he would be doing the c-section between 4:30 and 5 that day! DH doesn't get back from being out of town until 5 or 6pm so I was worried. I called DH and it turned out he and his co-workers left early and he was only half an hour away! I asked the doctor if I could go home and get my bag and he said no, I needed to go to the hospital right away. Just as I was getting in the car DH pulled up and his co-workers dropped him off. DH drove me to the hospital to get checked in and went home to get my bag and the camera.
There were a lot of other ladies having babies so my c-section didn't happen until 5:30pm giving DH enough time to make plans for the kids and get my things. Even though it wasn't my doctor doing the c-section I do like the doctor that did it. There was one scary point where, while being prepped in the OR, a nurse stepped on my IV pulling it out. The anesthesiologist caught it and was really mad at the nurses for not noticing. I guess I was going into cardiac arrest! That was the only scary part because other than that everything went smoothly. The doctor listened to my request to see my baby before she was washed off and also DH was able to be with baby the whole time. They also let me delay vaccinations which I was worried they wouldn't.
Baby was 6 lb. 5 oz and 20 in. She is perfectly tiny but does not look like a preemie. She started off not opening her mouth enough to get a good latch but now she is doing much better with nursing. She sleeps a lot and looks just like daddy. I am recovering better from this c-section than my other ones. I'll be home tomorrow morning.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Baby had few latching issues but with the help of the nurses we worked it out. I get to go home today. I was nervous about having another c-section but the doctor did a great job listening to my wishes. I want to thank those on here that told me it was possible to make a birth plan even when a mom has to have a c-section. Now it is time for more babies to get here!
Congrats mama! What a beautiful baby girl you have!! Enjoy your babymoon and I hope your recovery is quick! :)
