Ok...so this is day 5 of everything going straight through me...it all started on Thursday and I feel like I have been living in the bathroom.  I'm 36 weeks and at first I thought maybe my body was cleaning itself out...but then maybe a virus?  Maybe I ate something?  I have no clue but I can't keep anything in my system...it is on a fast track straight through and I just feel headachy, dehydrated, awful and gross...and I spent Thursday/Friday contracting because I was dehydrated.  Friday night I took some Immodium...Saturday I had a little reprieve but then it all started again in ernest yesterday and continues on today even with three more does of Immodium.

Ugh...any thoughts?  BTDT?  WWYD? I hope this isn't life for the next 4 weeks before he gets here because I'm going to be a rag doll.  It's hard to chase two energetic kids around when you're feeling completely depleted!

I am so constipated that I am almost jealous. I feel guilty eating because I know it is just stopping things up more in there. I have no advice but just to drink copious amounts of water and take it easy when you can. I am a firm believer in using the TV in the last month of pregnancy when you have to  in order to get some rest. (not very mothering.com I know :)

I don't know, but I've had the same problem, not quite *straight* through me, but pretty close.  I'm 38 weeks and kind of thought the same thing at first, that my body might be gearing up for labor.  Now I'm wondering if one of the supplements I'm taking could be causing it.  I was taking 1000 mg. of calcium/magnesium citrate, but the leg cramps have been far worse for almost the last week, so my midwife told me to up the calcium to as much as 2000 mg. before bed (that's 12 pills!)  Well, it didn't make any difference on the leg cramps and the runs have begun in ernest, so I've backed down, but it hasn't made any difference.  It's been 3 days of runs here.  I don't think I'm sick, I have no other signs of food poisoning or stomach virus, no stomach cramps really, just running to the bathroom frequently.  I'm also taking RRL capsules, EPO, Nature's Sunshine 5W and a prenatal vitamin, but I've been taking the RRL and 5W since I was 35 weeks and the EPO since I was 36.5 weeks, so I'm inclined to think it's not any of those either.  I have had random contractions, but nothing close together or timeable, I'm still wondering if my body isn't trying to gear up.  I don't know.  I don't remember having this problem at the end with any others, but I do know that I've always felt very cleaned out and never worried about pooping during delivery, so maybe I have had this the last week or so with other pregnancies.

Let me know if you guys come up with anything, because I'm starting to suspect I have same.  I posted about in on Saturday, but since then it has turned much more into just constant "loose stools" and the waves of pain are all over my abdomen & lower back.  I haven't changed my diet at all, so it's either a weird, linger-y stomach bug or the world's worst pre-labor symptom. :(  I mean, I'm only 35 weeks here.  No reason to suspect I'd go any earlier than 38 weeks at the earliest.

Yea no fever...no throwing up...I pretty much eat the same thing as my kids daily and neither of them are sick...?

It's just weird...I had this in the first weeks of pregnancy with DS....but never in the end.  DS was born at 38 weeks, DD at 40 weeks to the day...maybe this guy is just going to be earlier than them?  Clearing out for 37 weeks?  I guess I'll see what the midwife says today...

I'm 38/2 and I had it for about a week. It's eased up some yesterday and today, I don't have the stomach cramps that I did. I thought mine may have been the coffee I drank one morning but one coffee doesn't cause stomach troubles for a week. Then I thought maybe it was the apple juice I drank but nope. I've also had random contractions for over a week now but nothing predictive of when the real thing will start, I expect to still be pregnant next week orngtongue.gif

I hope you feel better soon.  This is no time to have what we call at our house "the bad poo."  winky.gif

Mizyellow- Have you tried calcium and magnesium to keep things moving?  I take 1 tsp of Natural Calm a day and lets just say that things are real regular 'round here.

I've never heard of cal/mag keeping things regular, but that would explain my problems since I have tried increasing my cal/mag dosage to ease up leg cramps.  That's the only thing I've changed since I started dealing with this.

Cal/Mag was my go to supplement during my last pregnancy to keep things...moving.  I couldn't even take a full daily dose of 3 pills because it would cause things to move waaaay too much.  Luckily I haven't needed to use it at all this pregnancy, yay!

Diarrhea is my go to sign for my labor count down - 14 days of it every time and then baby came (I write it in my journal). But is was more loose and not more than 2-3 times a day.

This time I have loose stuhls all the time from the raspberry leave tea, so I am not sure my indicator will work this time...

HI ladies,

I've been having the same. I thought it was an early labor indicator too, though I still need to wait another at least 5 days for my safe homebirth. But then my daughter got the runs. I think it's a virus. Interesting so many of us have it... anyone else's weather change quickly? Ours was winter until a week or two ago and now it's suddenly summer. Sometimes, from the CHinese medical perspective, these kinds of changes can precipitate cleansing in this way. Could be a virus too. I had a a night of contractions after one of the days. THink I was dehydrated.

Hang in there. I'm feeling better today, gradually less runny.

I'm back and forth on this! I feel way better now, and DD came home from daycare "feeling sick" this afternoon (complaining of a sore stomach, passed out on the couch at 7pm, won't eat) so a virus seems likely. But on the other hand, there's no question the virus symptoms were causing me BH (also probably dehydration) and the baby has dropped A TONNE.  I'm carrying so low now - even non-mother acquaintances have remarked on it. Babes has also been way, way less active today than usual (though not so inactive that I'm worried).  Can't shake the feeling the baby & my body are making final preparations...
