Before reading, please beware that I am VENTING!!!

I just cannot handle this pain anymore!! When I walk, every step I take sends an electric shock to my cervix and feels like a stabbing in my vagina. I guess what bothers me most is that I know it's not productive pain, just the baby resting! I'm 38 weeks, 1 day today and on last Thursday appt., I was 50 % effaced but closed tight. I know I need to wait until this baby comes on his/ her own terms. Just having a hard time dealing with the possibility of two-three more weeks.

Today it's also 95 degrees and we do not have air conditioning. I feel like I might lose my mind entertaining my 4 year old. I feel like a s^&% mom and that all I do is complain.

I'm so sorry to vent here. I could not be more thrilled with the way my pregnancy has been and I know how very blessed I am. Just feeling overwhelmed.

Oh Girl I hear you. This is just miserable!!!  I have had my hips and Pubic bone out of joint since 20 weeks and mothering my other 2 kids is a chore and I too feel like a failure meanie mommy!!! Once the baby comes out it will be all better!!! And 2 weeks will seem like nothing in the long run of things. Believe it or not you will for get how horribly painful and uncomfortable this time was. It's going to be over so soon. ALMOST there! Does anything help? Baths? Do u have a pool? I have been using my birth pool everyday for the last week and a half and it really helps me cope. Can you get a kiddie pool? I highly reccomend it. It's so helpful! http://www.amazon.com/Ocean-Reef-Inflatable-Kiddie-Pool/dp/B000Q0QTRW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1310411895&sr=8-4

HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS

I have been having that "vagina stabbing pain" for several weeks now.  It can almost make me just out of my chair!  (Mostly happens when I'm sitting).

Whilst I have NO advice...I understand.  Our 1st official EDD is the 17th...but this baby is welcome to come ANY TIME after the pool arrives tomorrow!

HUGS!

Mrs B

I call it a lightening bolt to the vagina.  I'm sorry you're having this too.  It sucks!

No need to appologize for venting mama! I'm getting frusterated with those pains too. irked.gif I last described it to someone as though baby were sticking his/her fingernails into my cervix and picking it apart or chizling it's way out with dental tools. NOT a happy feeling and it has interuppted my day quite frequently.

Yesterday when we took the family to the park, I told DH I was going to walk around and try to get things moving. I headed out and the pain started in (more front/pressure on my urethra area too). It was so bad I nearly debated having DH bring the car around to come get me so I could go home. It literally took my breath away at some points but I walked through it and waddled my way back to the play structure where I decided walking this baby out wouldn't be an option.

I hope that baby quits giving you the zingers and moves into a better position. FWIW I had a chiro adjustment today and it really seemed to help that lower pelvic pain. Baby moving lower is a great sign that it's nearly time though mama!

I've been having these pains too. They're quite insane feeling. Definitely like lightening bolts to the vagina, ugh! Thankfully I haven't had many today but have had a few days recently where I was about to lose my mind from the shooting pain. Luckily it'll be done soon.

ahhh to be able to think well enough to create a clever signature.sleeping.gif someday i will have enough sleep to accomplish this task...

Yes, that's exactly what it feels like!  I find these pains so weird, because the midwives tell me the baby isn't even engaged yet.  Why would it hurt so much if the baby isn't even DOWN there?!  Oh well.  Two more weeks. >.<

Hang in there Mama!  It is so hard taking care of another child when you are in pain and uncomfortable and all you want to do is be by yourself to manage the pain.  Can you get an air conditioner in your house?  That might help you keep you more comfortable which could go a long way in how you are feeling mentally.  I was feeling great yesterday (40 weeks and 5 days today but have air conditioning that we keep at 72) but then I left in the 94 degree weather to get gas at Costco and buy a few things there and was miserable when I got home- just from the heat.  Just a thought.
