My 6 week appointment is Friday and I don't really have a plan either. I want DH to get a vasectomy but he is adament that he doesn't want to. I'm 40, so not really a good candidate for hormonal methods, and I really just feel like it's HIS turn-I did the BD and the childbearing, he can get a snip. I'm not keen on the IUD either, for no specific good reason. Although I would theoretically love more children, between my age and the fact that we are stretched too thin as it is, it's not a good idea. I'm mostly ready to move on to the next phase of our lives. But I know they are going to ask Friday, and sicne I got pregnant on one try this time around, there's no guarantee that it wouldn't happen again, ocne I'm done nursing and start cycling again.

Kelly, wife to DH, mom to Caden Reese (10-2-06), Tessa Brynn (12-26-08 ), and Maddox Quinn (7-16-11). Fur-mama to Finnegan, Ripley, Raisin (my little kitty amputee) and Kimchi. 748/2011, 2028/2012-I did it!! 2023/2013-Again!!! 404/2014

Have you thought about the Adiana procedure?

My sister had this done because her DH wouldn't get a vasectomy and they couldn't afford any more children.  Super non invasive and done on an out patient basis.

Interesting!!! I had never heard of it but it sounds like a possibility. I'm going to keep working on DH though...since I'm only 7 weeks pp I wouldn't be able to even think about having it done yet anyhow (although would have to find someone to do it). But if he won't give in this may be a good fall back. My MIL was here today and once again touting how easy it was to have her tubes tied. eyesroll.gif since her husband wouldn't get a vasectomy. Umm...from what I've heard it's a lot bigger deal than the vasectomy, and *I* just really am not interested.

Thanks for the link!

I didn't like the copper IUD.  It made my periods extremely heavy.  The cramping was out of this world.  I could even feel myself ovulate and it HURT!  I would double over in pain.  Then it became dislodged, turned sideways, and had to be removed.  Let me tell ya, that was NOT a pleasant experience.  Uggggh.
