Doing okay. I am trying to focus on remembering the details. Then journaling those details for the future.
The one thing I am stuck on is that my dd never met my Aunt. By the time my dd came along, auntie and uncle were living on the coast and we never made it out to see them.
Its hard just because my dd doesn't have an Aunt like my Auntie. Her Aunts are very independant women without children who pay little attention to her, unfortunately! I would love my dd to have an Aunt like my Auntie!
My Auntie and Uncle lived all over the world, due to my Uncle being in the Canadian Navy for 35 years. That made her all the most 'exotic' to me. She always served interesting food, I ate granola at her house when I was only a little girl. At my house it was cheerios or special K.
Right up to the last moments she was always searching for the shadow in the light. The difference in things, and then she would celebrate that.
The last time I saw her, we had coffee at the health food store in Victoria. Fair trade, organic lovely dark coffee. And we talked of her recovery from Alcoholism, a disease that nearly took her. That talk was so pivital in me finishing my thesis and starting my herbal practice.
Oh, I miss her. And I didn't even know I did. How sad!
