She's one of my most favorite people. She's so strong and funny. I have many, many, many fond memories of her.

I found out today that she's likely going to a nursing home

The strange part is that two days ago (before I heard any of this) is that DP, DD and I drove by a nursing home. It was in a part of town we never, ever go to. I had this random and unsettling thought run through my head that said, "That's the nursing home where my Grandma died." "But she's not dead," I quickly rebutted. The next day I hear the news, she's likely going to that nursing home.

And my poor Grandpa, how sad he must be, the love of his life... :

I just feel like nursing homes are the "last stop," if you will...

Thanks for reading

I can totally understand that feeling...we basically have just finished that cycle with my Grandfather. His needs were more than we could provide, so in the end he decided that it was time...but it was awful for my Grandmother, and the end result was that he was there less than a year, before he died there.

It's never an easy decision to make, or to live with, all the "If only's" and all the "But what if I did..."'s all come out...but they still happen even when it's the right decision.
