I am so sorry. Thank you for sharing your story.

I am a 40 year old unschooling, belly dancing, artist-mama of one almost 8 year old. I just had brain surgery and blogging.jpg about it a bit because it's just so surreal.

I'm so very sorry for your loss!

My next door neighbor's baby had this issue at term (wonder if that makes the difference) and here in the U.S. they did an immediate surgery on him to put the organs back through the whole in his abdominal wall and get them away from his heart and lungs. It was touch and go for awhile and he was in the NICU for many, many weeks after.

Did they offer corrective surgery to you? Was 33 weeks too immature to withstand the surgery perhaps?

I'm so sorry again. These are the things no one can either predict or have done anything to avoid happening.

You were so strong and brave! I applaud you!

I do hope you have strength to go on making more babies and having a family. Time will help you the most now. Thanks for sharing your beautiful story!

Hello....

You can't have corrective surgery for Edwards as it's not compatable with

life .I know there is a type called partial Edwards so maybe you

neigbours baby had this as believe me if there was any chance my baby could

have surived he would have.

Louis was born at 33 weeks and if he did not have Edwards he would have

lived.Operating was not a opiton as they don't ever do this with Edwards.

I asked all of this as the consultant sat on my bed and held my hand on that

very sad and bleak day.

I can't imagine how much this hurts for you. I don't know if it will help you, but you are not crying alone for your loss.

My advice may not be appropriate for you. That's ok. You are just fine how you are and I am the right kind of me.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear son. I lost my son, William, who had trisomy 13 (not 18, like Louis) when he was 17 days old. There are so many emotions. I am very happy that you had time to be with him, and hold him, and have him respond to your voice. I am so proud that he survived to meet you. They are such an important part of our lives.
