Thought I'd share this little story.
My four yo dd woke up last week determined to throw 2 yo ds a surprise birthday party. (His birthday is in July lol.) So we set up tables in the family room with plates and candy dishes, set up a pin the tail on the donkey game, got some "breakfast party" food ready. Dd made a "cake" out of peanut butter on bread, decorated with raisins and a candle. I got ds out of bed and brought him down. Dd yelled "Surprise!" Ds was delighted.
We all took turns having Happy Birthday sung to us, making a wish, and blowing out the candle.
I asked dd what she wished for, and here is what my sweet child replied, "I wished I had the best Mommy in the whole world, and my wish came true."
I was a hopeless mass of blubber for the next few minutes.
This job has lousy pay but the perks are incredible.
