Hello all ... my 4.5 year old daughter has had a frequent rash (?) near her mouth in the past 4 months or so. Never happened before. It starts as small red spots, on her upper lip & near the corner(s) of her mouth; spreads a bit & progresses to involve some raised bumps near both corners, on her chin & upper lip.
A few weeks ago she was also rubbing saliva on the area, presumably because it was irritated and she thought that would help. Of course it had the opposite effect, drying & further irritating the skin. Consulting nurse suggested I try neosporin on the area morning & night for a week, and sure enough, it cleared up. But now the early stages (red spots/raised bumps) are back.
I'm looking for insights about what might be causing this, and how I might try treating it. She had a comprehensive allergy panel test a few months ago & tested that she has no common allergies.
