My DD is 4.5. I think we got this right after she turned four.

Amazing You!

The book explains everything from physical gender differences to conception and birth, but in very, very simple terms. It manages to be completely truthful and factual, but isn't what some might consider "graphic."

Homeschooling, etsy-crafting Mama to spunky DD (12-04) and wife to DH.

are you going to introduce the subject or are you going to wait for him to ask questions.

i waited for dd to ask questions and then got a medical dictionary and showed her her systems when she wanted to see pictures.

that worked out much better for us as it was custom made to her questions and curiosity rather than finding the right book which i dont think i would have found.

yeah i have gone thru the whole stuff with my dd including the daddy puts his penis into mommy's vagina speil - as seh wasnt going to settle for anything less.

thanks for the book recommendation!

ds1 hasn't asked questions as much as he's made statements. he jumped on top of me the other day and yelled "sex!" while laughing hysterically. i tried to explain to him that is something mommies and daddies do when they are in love and it isn't something that little kids do but i don't think that was enough to satisfy his curiosity (or week long obsession with the word).

There's a great book for that age group called It's Not The Stork. They have other books for older kids that are also great.
