Like pranks? I read/heard somewhere about a mom who froze the kids milk, then topped it off with unfrozen milk, so they only could drink a little bit.

Turn everything in the house upside down - pictures/toys etc...

A friend of mine does silly things with her kids wearing clothes inside out or backwards and eating things like hotdogs for breakfast and cereal for dinner.

Last year I made them "kool-aid" which was jello in a cup, "taco cups" which was a waffle bowl with ice cream, green tinted coconut for the lettuce, orange icing shreds for the cheese. It was a lot of fun!

My parents once made us green eggs and ham for breakfast. It was cool.

I did this today -- put jello in juice cups. I'm going to serve it with DS's lunch and say "April fools!" when he tries to drink the "juice." I made an extra one so DS can fool his dad when he gets home from work.

So we ended up moving the dining room table and chairs one room over (actually, DH did this). I put gummy worms in the kids' fruit, used colored milk in their cereal, and (read this online) unscrewed the bottom of the bathroom faucet, put an egg dyeing tablet in there, and when they turned on the tap this morning, the water was red! It worked really well.

I like the idea of more food ones, but just didn't have the prep time. Maybe next year....

I'm not sure I would ever recover from that -- my grandma told me this awful story when I was little about a shower that sprayed blood instead of water, and I still freak out about it.

For anyone but me, though, that'd be a fun gag -- did your kids get a kick out of it?

I love the gummy worms in fruit idea.

Yeah, if I had to do it again, I'd probably choose blue or green! But yes, the kids were totally entranced! Luckily no bad associations for them...
