Hi- My daughter is turning 4 this Friday. For her party, there will possibly be an 8-year-old sister of one of my daughter's friend's coming along. I don't know the girl, just the 4-year-old who is my daughter's friend. I'd like to have something on hand for the 8-year-old. I COULD just give her one of the baskets we're giving the little-kid guests, but I didn't buy enough baskets. :) Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
When my DD turned four, she had a mixed aged party ranging from 3 years old to 10 years old! Most were neighbors but it also included cousins of varying ages. We made our own gift bags. For the little ones we put in some age appropriate stuff. For the bigger kids, we included art stickers and those cool Japanese erasers (shaped like sushi). Everyone loved their bags, even the big kids. Just an FYI: I bought a big box of recycled brown bags from a paper company and I keep them in storage for this type of stuff. We personalize by applying stickers and colorful ribbons and drawings/painting directly on the bags. It is cheap and can be very handy when you're dealing with a lot of different interests, parties, people.
Eight year olds also like lip gloss and chapstick. We try to the "healthy" stuff and it is always a hit. Seems small to us, but to an 8-year-old, it is pretty cool.
