With wrapping paper instead of using a gift bag, would you carry it as is or put it in a bag. Can I carry a gift wrapped present in a plastic bag or does that look sloppy?

Unless you're going to a wedding, I doubt anyone would give it being carried in a plastic bag much thought. Just take it out of the bag when you get there and tuck the plastic bag in your purse or something.

It's just that this place where dd went to the presents were placed on the floor. They didn't have a table. She is going to a party which is at the same place and with all the kids running around I thought it might be good to put it in a plastic bag. I have it wrapped and don't want to go buy a gift bag now. Thanks.

Do you have a paper shopping bag around you could tuck it in? I find this to be a good re-use of these bags, especially because it stands up and like you said, doesn't look sloppy.
