We don't always get the regular date nights that we'd like so were down to after kids go to bed at home dates. My question is though how do I get DS to stay in his bed come bedtime!? Putting him to bed is a chore and most nights he's not asleep until 9 or later . DH ideally would be in bed by 10 or 10:30 to get up for work by 6. This doesn't give us much time. I wouldn't even mind if he just played or read books or something to give DH and I a little time together but he's constantly coming out of his room asking for food or water or something. Help! By the way DS is 4

DH(9/04) DS(12/08) and DD(5/11)

Well, when my DD was about that age (and DS older), we started "Friday night date night." By 6:30, the kids are fed and in PJs and have to stay in their rooms. They can watch movies on their ipod, play the DS, listen to stories or whatever. And normally I DO limit screen time, but we can't afford a sitter every week, and for my family, DH and I finally decided that our marriage's health could come first one night a week. I love it and really look forward to it.

Hope you can find something that works for you guys.
