Hello!  I'm looking for book recommendations--or even just some tips and techniques, if you have them!--regarding DS, 7, and learning to handle anger.  He's highly sensitive and very emotional, and we're looking for some guidance for helping him roll with disappointment, control his emotions about games and sports, and so forth.

We try to model being a good loser (or good winner), and we talk through disappointment from our own experiences, but we need to continue working on this.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if you're looking for suggestions for books for parents or books you can share with your son where a character experiences disappointment or frustrations around games and sports or perhaps both? Anyone have recommendations?

We have the Angry Octopus book too, actually.  I think there are also tapes where it's read to you - it's a basic intro to progressive relaxation, though, and might be pretty helpful.

One source we found helpful for dealing with excessive anger (for us all) was this little song from the Daniel Tiger show that my kids picked up on their own - it's very catchy.  I think the link is for a poor quality version of the show it's on, couldn't find just the song right now (but it's re-invented Mr.Rogers material).  Might be aimed a little younger age, but my 6 y/o sometimes watches it anyway.
