I posted this in the TV forum, but it didn't get many responses, so someone suggested I try here.

My kids are outgrowing PBS Kids and I'm looking for entertaining shows that I feel comfortable with them watching. Any recommendations for shows they'll like that are free from romantic flirtation, gender stereotypes, unattainable beauty standards, glorification of rudeness, violence, etc?

Mom to DD 7 and DS 5.

My DD still liked Dora and Blues Clues at that age. She also loved Strawberry Shortcake (and still does), the Barbie movies (which are surprisingly very feminist for the most part), Wonder Pets, Rocky and Bullwinkle, The Pink Panther, and recently she discovered Shawn the Sheep and loves it.

We mostly watch netflix shows or DVDS (so some of these may not be that 'out there for easy watching').

The older Madeline cartoon is nicely done.  We liked Maggie & the Ferocious Beast a lot, as well as Redwall (might have some violence, but very rich literary-based story - dd1 watched this with dad as 'their thing' for quite awhile).  Shaun the Sheep.  The Magic School Bus.

Max & Ruby cartoons, Little Bear, and Angelina Ballerina (old or new versions) might be of some interest (though my younger 3 y/o likes these more than older 7 y/o sis).

There are some older Eloise long shows.  We also like Garfield & the Powerpuff girls (though some amount of comic rudeness/violence is certainly in those programs).

Wonder Pets, Wild Kratts, Cyberchase, Zoom (old or newer versions), Busytown Mysteries, Magic School Bus, Electric Company (new one, although it's a bit noisy for my taste, but my kids have liked it).
