Only other mamas can truly appreciate this and I had to share:
Sometime in the night our 5 year old came into our bed. We were all sleeping, but I must have heard something because I suddenly sat up, pulled her into sitting position, and cupped my hands in front of her face just as she vomited up everything she ate for dinner. Mamas, I caught ALL OF IT. No soiled pajamas. No bedding change. No 2 a.m. bath to rinse a vomit-covered child. Honestly, it felt like winning Olympic Gold. I know all of you have had similarly triumphant feelings over seemingly un-triumphant things. We are AWESOME!
Mama to F (3/09) and S (3/11); and never forgetting my babe gone too soon (4/10).
A couple of years ago when dh stayed in hospital with 2yo dd who had pneumonia, he was doing a great job catching her vomit. He was beaming with pride when he told me how impressed the nurses were.
I hope your little one is feeling better. Ninjas need some rest too.
