Khrisday, I've seen those wipes in the store and thought about using them. A problem I see is dd #2! She's potty training now and is my mischievious one. If I get the wipes for my oldest, my 3yr old will either flush them all, one by one, unused down the toilet or use them to "clean" the bathroom or some such thing. We're on a pretty limited budget, so the blatant waste would be a problem.
And, mom at home, don't get me wrong...I wiped her myself for quite a while. She just doesn't get it. She's already had two bladder infections because she insists on wiping from back to front. I tell her not to do that...and I don't wipe that way. Just this morning, I heard her go into the bathroom and when she came out, I went in and looked in the toilet...no paper...and none in the garbage can.
I looked for the thread mentioned in gentle discipline but I'll look again. I applaud you moms with patience who are still wiping your older ones, but I am 2 months away from having to deal with a newborn, a 22 month old, a devil-ish 3 year old, and a 5 1/2 year old. I NEED her to start doing a FEW things for herself...not everything...but wiping, I don't feel, is too much to expect.
I know it will "click" sooner or later, just like everything else. I just hope it's sooner, rather than later!
