5 y/o smeared chewing gum on couch! - Mothering Forums

She thought she could just leave it there in a little ball and finish chewing it after her snack. Whike eating her snack, she sat on the gum. Its now a big smeary streak! How can we remove it??
P.S. I NEVER buy / give her gum. Thank you, dh!!

Peanut butter works wonders at removing chewing gum from little peoples hair,but as to it working on a couch:
I would think the oil in the butter would stain the couch
Sorry not much help but just thought i would mention the butter incase darling hubby gives it to her again and it ends up in her hair!!!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, we had the same thought- that pb would just stain the couch. Then a friend came over and showed us how to get most of it up by "blotting," you know- like you use a large chunk of play-doh to get the little bits up? Turns out that works with gum too!

I have heard ice works too, but I banned gum 16 years ago and alll my kids think it is gross, cause I have brainwashed them!!!!
