Our ds when he was two (just turned 3 last month) said hippo-pa-ta-ta mus for hippopotamus. DD almost 4yo says shwacklit for chocolate. I love to hear them talk and pronounce or "mis-pronounce" words. I write some of them down and slip them into their baby books.

My daughter has always called pretzels "pren-sils", sonds almost like pencils, but with an extra r. Now that's the way they both say it, and its really cute...

Also, when she was about 3, we taught her to play Go Fish, but she called it "Goldfish". So you'd say, do you have a 3, and she'd say - no, Goldfish!

Great thread!

When my DD was younger, she used to say "spee-saahs" for "zebra" -- I miss this one.

She used to say "pit" for "put", as in, "Don't pit it in there!"

She still says "bo-man-a" for "banana".

And she still says "under to" instead of just "under", as in, "Mommy I want to get under to the blanket."
