I am considering starting a children's cloth toy biz and would like to start selling things online (and eventually get my own site up). Which site do you recommend? Etsy or Hyena Cart?
I kind of like Hyena Cart's layout better, but etsy seems more popular...

I agree that Etsy is probably more popular and gets more traffic. Whenever I am looking to buy something and search on Google I get a lot of Etsy hits but I've never seen one for Hyena Cart. I only know of HC because I use cloth diapers part time, and it was popular among moms on a diapering forum I used to frequent.

As a buyer, I don't visit Hyena because it's just more difficult to navigate. I'm a huge etsy fan.

I think that there is more focus on children's product at HC. I have shops on both Etsy and HC and I sell more on HC. The price for a shop there is right, too. You can stock all you want for the same low price. Etsy cost to list, cost when you sell and cost to keep your listing from being smothered under all the other stuff. If you plan to advertise elsewhere, you can make the Etsy work for you. HC has a built in clientele with kids and babies. Good luck to you!

I use Etsy and really like it. I've only been on Etsy about 2 months and have well over 150 sales. I am however probably going to expand over to HC here soon just to have a larger presence.

Definitely Etsy! Hyena Cart is confusing and difficult to navigate.
