I need someone with some experience to help me with this pattern. I lose a stitch every few chevrons. http://www.ehow.com/how_4684023_croc...on-stitch.html How do I add one in when needed? I'm doing the increase, but you increase ONE, decrease TWO, so clearly, there's oging to be a problem.
You should be increasing 2, decreasing 2. In Step 3 it says [increase made] [decrease made] [increase made], so for each chevron you should be doing one increase of 1 stitch, 1 decrease of 2 stitches, 1 increase of 1 stitch.
But that would make one hill, with, basically, two valleys, right? Or, decrease-valley, increase-hill, decrease-valley. ( so next would be another hill and another increase of two stitches?)
I've been doing it and ripping it out alll week. I know I'm just not getting something simple, and I think you've got a handle on it. :/ I'm frustrated. Care to try to explain again?
You have an increase hill, decrease valley, increase hill, decrease valley, increase hill. When you run the repeats together, you wind up with [inc1][dec2][inc2][dec2][inc2][dec2][inc2][dec2] etc.
If you follow the instructions precisely, and get all the way through step 4, what happens? Even if it's not looking right before then, just do it, and after you finish step 4, what's it look like?
I'm going to make this again and came back because I knew I'd find the directions and corrections here. Ahh Mothering. And ahhh cristeen!
